New silver metallic panels?

Did anyone see this GOTG set?....it has 6 silver metallic panels in 5x11 and 3x7....also, the hard to find plates used in 8275 are back in this set!, 47397/47398. This set has quite a few juicy parts if you are trying to build old Technic sets

ooh!...i see more silver metallic elements used in 8285!...a 4x6 yellow plate used in 8043.

correction, parts mentioned are flat silver, not metallic silver.

Yeah, they're flat silver... Hopefully somewhere down the line we get more flat silver ones to complement these one...

But it's the first time I actually see them. Nice part for a small plane.

And the "normal" panels should be perfect for a silver super car.

Exactly, the Dropship has them. The other Bionicle Set with a great amount of almost exclusively Technic parts is the 8943 Axalara T9 (curved red panels 3X11, black beams, etc.).

As for the LBG panels from the 7160 Drop Ship: I badly wanted the grey panels too and looked over at Lego Parts and Bricks. They were orderable, but after completing my order I became a mail saying they aren't produced anymore and not on stock either. As of then, the only way to get them is per Bricklick (too less, too expensive) and by buying complete Drop Ships on other sources (too less, too expensive).

On topic: great find indeed, I love panels . Already have an Idea for them too...

Some Bionicle sets are so great for acquiring rare "Technic parts".

I actuallyput in a bid on the drop ship, for those LBG panels, it also has a nice few yellow panels.

I am buying a T9 next week....it has 12 red panels which are hard to find and used in 8258, which is my next build project after 8285 is complete :-)

There are other Bionicle sets ith some very rare parts and colours, tan beams, clear see through beams etc, silver ones as well.

Flat silver meh, wish they were true metallic silver. Seems like TLG is not a fan of glossy parts anymore. Guess they're too susceptible to getting scratched.

Was thinking that too. I could buy them on BL, the pannel pieces, because they aren't that much. Make a 9396 or 9398 with the silver.

I am buying 8943 next week as it has 12 of those red panels used in 8258, which is my next build project. It has TONS of almost all Technic pieces!, 21 black 15m beams....loads of beams!

Also...it has 4 parts used in an older Technic set, 44033 which is used in Technic 8434. Check out these other Bionicle sets as they have loads of Technic parts, lots of hard to find and rare colours:
