Before I continue making the game further and spend lots and lots of time making it up, I want your opinion and to know if many of you would deffinately be interested in participating in this game.

I'm writing up "how to play". But it takes a bit. And I'd want expressions of interest of people who would like to play before I spend alot of time writing it up.

Basically, you and some members are on a ship, you move via the grid system, and pillage and plunder at islands ports that are going to be spread on a map similar to the one shown. Or you and some members are on the English Navy and try stop them.

I thought this game would be more along the lines of the Tie Army thread... Or is it the same but is it with a board system?? I think I would like something like the Tie army.. But I expect certain members to complain it will be a rip-off of the Tie thread... Well, anyway, I'm quite interested but wouldn't it be nicer to use MOCs in the game? Offcourse, you need to have a certain rank before you can use a MOC, but I think those things would work out...

MOCs will be even more time consuming than this. I'd have to take pictures, upload, ect. I still have to go to PS to update it. Which it would be updated at least on a scheduled basis. This way, there is one board for all to see in the first post. Easily, and clearly.

The reason this isn't going to be a TIE army thread styled game is to lose the factors of people getting it totally out of it's original intention. Getting it totally off topic....and to eliminate people adding tanks and immortal dragons.

I'm going to have 10 ships in the game, 5 people on each, so I'm sure they all wont be filled up. If need be, I'll add more ships. There'll be a Captain on each, and they'll give advice. There'll be treasures, and you can get bunches of money or lose it all.

Arrr, yer right. Well, your idea sounds okay to me... Now we only need more potential participants...

BTW, about those MOCs, I meant MOCs from members (either you, me or anyone else). You would only be allowed to use your own MOCs offcourse... In your post it looks like you are talking about your own MOCs. We would have to choose them though...

Having MOCs from other members would be nice, but possibly too confusing.

Edit: I'm also try to fit in alot of things to make the story/game alot like what you could do in the 17th century. Like pirates switiching flags to surprise unsuspecting merchant ships.

C'mon! Who else?

I've noticed this thread is merely a discussion between Imperial Scouts and Mr Tiber which isn't looking too promising.

Maybe if it were renamed "Who is interested in participating in a Pirate Strategy Game" the point of the thread may be clearer.

would we all have to online at the same time to play?

or is it a more progressive thing?

because the different time zones might cause a problem.

but i'd be up for it. i think.

once its explained a little better. (no i'm not blonde :-P )

Done and done.

Cutlass: The game is going to be a progressive type. So you all don't have to be there.

Well, I must say This looks very nice Mr.Scouts. Well done. BUT! I must say that this would be alot easier if it was done in the style of the tie-army. See my post in the "All Gentlemen Volunteers" thread.

I have said my reasons why I'm not doing it TIE-Army styled. I had notioned it to be originally, but scraped it. It also adds originality to it!

Yup.

Anyway, check first post for a bit of the Official Rules. To get more idea of how it's going to be to others.

That's 3 people interested. Mister Phes, I'm sure, is too busy to play with us :-P . I'll wait till there's a couple more people interested.

Yeah, I'm quite disappointed at the lack of postage. In any form, I'm on a 5 week vacation to the country that started the age of exploration by being the first ones out on the open seas. (I wonder who can figure out which country is that?). So, I'll find what time I can get to nab some posts here. What gets me is the number of hits or views, verses the number of posts. This would have been an interesting project to do and finish.

In any form, if nobody gets interested, I'll still write the rules and make the graphics, as experience points. Though, I may/may not post it.

You're quite a lucky lad to be going on such a voyage, I wouldn't mind going on one myself except its not going to happen any time soon.

As for your game, how many participants do you require to get it launched? Perhaps you could start something with 2 or 3 participants so you can get something working and then if its good others will join.

So what will happen to your game if you go on a future vacation after (if) its launched?
