TwistedDreams Posted June 10, 2007 Posted June 10, 2007 If I were to copy and past them in a grid using paint, how many would I put (ie: 7 wide, 13 tall) and what do I resize them as? i.e. 50%? 25%? Please help. -TD Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted June 11, 2007 Governor Posted June 11, 2007 This thread is probably best in the Pirate LEGO Customs forum since its dealing with custom torsos. So I shall move it... Quote
TwistedDreams Posted June 11, 2007 Author Posted June 11, 2007 (edited) Huh, there is now two topics, both in Pirate Lego customs. I'm sorry, I didn't mean to put this in the wrong forum, but I think you just copied it. Anyway, how do I Resize these images from the original size? Are they ready to print and glue on?? -TD EDIT: Btw I made some Red Coat soldier torso's: Comments appreciated! -TD Edited June 11, 2007 by TwistedDreams Quote
Starwars4J Posted June 11, 2007 Posted June 11, 2007 (edited) Huh, there is now two topics, both in Pirate Lego customs. I'm sorry, I didn't mean to put this in the wrong forum, but I think you just copied it. What he did was leave a link so you can find where it was moved to ;-) Anyway, how do I Resize these images from the original size? Mister Phes has made a wonderful tutorial on how to resize many images at once (or one at a time). Are they ready to print and glue on?? Well, to make sure why don't you measure the size of a torso, and then compare it to the dimensions from resizing? Also, try to use decals, using glue often ends up looking messy and unprofessional. My best suggestion would be to get someone like Kaminoan to print it for you on waterslide decals, which are bar-none the best to use for this sort of thing. For information on how to contact kaminoan, check the Customization Index Edited June 11, 2007 by Starwars4J Quote
Starwars4J Posted June 11, 2007 Posted June 11, 2007 HMMM... That seems familiar...... |-/ You'd better explain yourself...we don't like thieves, and at least you should have had the intelligence not to post it on the forum where it was created! So what do you have to say? Quote

TwistedDreams Posted June 11, 2007 Author Posted June 11, 2007 Wow, I'm so sorry, I didn't ever see that, honest! Please, Take full credit I don't want to get in trouble, I never saw that before. I'll edit my post and say I just cleaned up that old one, but really I just made that myself. Honestly, I just looked up "red coats" on Google images and up came some that look just like that so I made my own, really you have to believe me here. Sorry, -TD Quote

Sorry, -TD Well, just give credit if you're basing your work off of someone else. It's common courtesy, and some people will get really upset if you don't. Quote

Not to sound accusatory, but if you made your from scratch based on mine, how are the only differences are buttons and bandoliers? After all, exact lines of mine could not really be replicated... or something... Quote

After all, exact lines of mine could not really be replicated... or something... If you look closely, the lines are SLIGHTLY different. A little cleaner, the angels of the stripes are more curved, as well as the angles on the bottom and by the collar. It was clearly a copy of yours, but it wasn't 100% exact (which makes little sense but whatever). Quote
Tyger Posted June 11, 2007 Posted June 11, 2007 Not to sound accusatory, but if you made your from scratch based on mine, how are the only differences are buttons and bandoliers? After all, exact lines of mine could not really be replicated... or something... Not to be a dick, but I've had ppl blame me on other art forums for ripping ppls stuff off and it's not fun. So I'm going to have to point out that TD's torsos and yours other than being based off the Imperial Guard Admiral of Imperial Soldier Govenor torsos, they aren't at all alike. The lines aren't even close to matching. I took them into PS just to make sure my eye wasn't off and they aren't even close. Evidence: Not to be a dick, but dude you should really be sure before you acuse someone of stealing, that's a pretty harsh accusation, and when it comes to something as personal as art, it's probably the harshest. Cheers, Ty Quote
TwistedDreams Posted June 11, 2007 Author Posted June 11, 2007 Starwars and norrington you have to believe me I've never seen that before really I haven't. ^Thank you for that, really thank you I never thought of overlapping the two for comparison. See you guys? Mine was all drawn by me. the only recourses I used were Google images. -TD Quote
Starwars4J Posted June 11, 2007 Posted June 11, 2007 Tyger: Thanks for taking the time to go that. I'm rather bad at PS, however they looked very alike to me. I'm glad to see that it wasn't a rip-off. My apologies, TwistedDreams, but I'm sure you can see how that mistake would be made. Nice decals btw Quote

I mean if it was a legit complaint fair enough, I hate when ppl rip each other off, but it's never fun to be called out when you really were just trying to do the best you could yah know? Especially with art you're so proud of what you've done so you post it for feedback praise and then to be called a cheat kinda sucks. Glad I could help clear the air. :-$ Quote
Eurobricks Emperor Bonaparte Posted June 11, 2007 Eurobricks Emperor Posted June 11, 2007 Thanks Tyger for making that comparison picture *y* It reliefs TwistedDreams from all charges ;-) . So we can go back to discussing the new torso's. I've just added them in our torso library. Quote
TwistedDreams Posted June 11, 2007 Author Posted June 11, 2007 thankyou, I was sweatin' there for a sec :'-( . But i printed them out on sticky paper and stuck em on a few guys and they look sick. I'm ordering some tricorne hats (black for red coats) and a TON of cutlass swords and Muskets. This is coming along grand thanks to bricklink, I'm glad I've found these sites they're helping out a lot so far. -TD Quote
Norrington Posted June 11, 2007 Posted June 11, 2007 Sorry about that confusion. They look very similar, and for someone with out photo-shop that can be difficult to tell apart. Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted June 12, 2007 Governor Posted June 12, 2007 Wow! A drama. Now what's that saying about "Look before you leap" or something along those lines. That philosophy might apply to make accusations. Quote
Scouty Posted June 12, 2007 Posted June 12, 2007 I like them. They look very neat. Was this done in multiple layers? One Layer? Pixel by Pixel? Very good. Quote
TwistedDreams Posted June 12, 2007 Author Posted June 12, 2007 ^yeah I started with the Jacket, then the under shirt with the collar, then the fold of the coat, the buttons, then the stripes. Thanks btw. -TD Quote
