Dapper-D2 Posted August 7, 2014 Posted August 7, 2014 Great looking tank! I have all the Cobi WW2 tanks and love them. Quote
legomuppet9 Posted August 7, 2014 Posted August 7, 2014 Awesome detailed model! although the tracks seem to struggle a bit Is this because the tracks are too slack? Quote
Tommy Styrvoky Posted August 7, 2014 Author Posted August 7, 2014 (edited) Awesome detailed model! although the tracks seem to struggle a bit Is this because the tracks are too slack? There isn't too much slack, it's from the width of the vehicle and there is a problem with the rear sprocket driving it, it tends to jam and bend the tracks in between that or into where the last road wheel is thus usually breaking the track. So I had quite a few times where I was recording and a track would come off and then I would pull the outer tracks. Edited August 7, 2014 by Tommy Styrvoky Quote
Rishab N Posted August 7, 2014 Posted August 7, 2014 Really like this one. I think this is my favorite tank that you've made Quote
Tommy Styrvoky Posted August 8, 2014 Author Posted August 8, 2014 I will be converting this into a T28 prototype with a turret and working breech. Quote
Tommy Styrvoky Posted August 8, 2014 Author Posted August 8, 2014 (edited) here is the finalized version of the working breech with recoil+ casing ejection. https://www.flickr.com/photos/100480897@N07/14833028726/ Edited August 8, 2014 by Tommy Styrvoky Quote
Kelkschiz Posted August 8, 2014 Posted August 8, 2014 Nice breech action. Is it possible to motorize both the breech action as well as the recoil action? It seems that at the moment only the breech action is motorized. Quote
Lakop Posted August 8, 2014 Posted August 8, 2014 Great looking tank! I like that you doubled up the small tracks. H Quote

It seems that at the moment only the breech action is motorized. the breech recoils back half a stud but it's barely noticeable, the problem I am having is that if I try to recoil it back further the casing of the round won't eject fully. Edwin Korstanje Posted August 8, 2014 Posted August 8, 2014 Awesome great detailed tank you build. Quote
Tommy Styrvoky Posted August 8, 2014 Author Posted August 8, 2014 great looking tank! Must be a WOT player. Yeah i do play WOT occasionally , but right now i am unable to play because of my computer. It gives me more time to focus on these builds. Quote
pluto7443 Posted August 8, 2014 Posted August 8, 2014 Awesome to see a fellow FIRST member on here! I love the tank too! I'm on 4917, we just had our rookie season, and made it to worlds. Got Galileo division rookie all-star Quote

Got Galileo division rookie all-star cool, our team did very well, but there was some problems with the judging in the final rounds, a alliance that was eliminated in previous rounds got the chance to re-do the match and they won. Our alliance faced them in the semifinals and we lost, but there was a judging error with a foul so we could have gone on; It was very frustrating. Quote

MajklSpajkl Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 Wow, respect! I was hoping to see some model of the tank that tries to implement the actual kinetics of the shooting gun, yours is the first! Since I don't know much about tanks, I am wondering if the detachable treads are just your designing magic or were there any such experiments in the real world? Quote

Since I don't know much about tanks, I am wondering if the detachable treads are just your designing magic or were there any such experiments in the real world? all of my vehicles are based off of real vehicles that were designed or built in real life I have built a tank that does shoot projectiles but if I were to implement that on this vehicle it would either have a oversized barrel or the tank would have to be massive to meet the scale of the barrel. most of my vehicles are designed to create a detailed replica with the basic functions of the vehicle. here's a image of the actual vehicle with the tracks removed. MajklSpajkl Posted August 11, 2014 Posted August 11, 2014 What was the point of removable tracks? I'm guessing easier transport of the tank, something else maybe? Quote
