djmangunz Posted January 4, 2015 Posted January 4, 2015 I disagree (although I like your guess work and think your reasoning is great). BTW djmangunz, sorry to step on your toes a bit and steal some of your ideas. No worries! You make fantastic points and it's more than likely you will be correct in most, if not all, areas. The reason I attached the $120 price tag to the Raptor Escape is because someone, maybe j2g perhaps, listed a price point without names attached. Normally as the set number increases so does the price, but not always. Anyway it was done mostly for fun and was all complete guesswork on my part. Nice job on your end though! Quote
strangely Posted January 4, 2015 Posted January 4, 2015 Yeah but we're back to what I said in my first post. If there is more than one wave, the other(s) will be about JP (if they got the JP license, as SMC said). I just don't think we'll see more of JW until the sequel comes out. PotC, LotR, The Hobbit and Indiana Jones all have more than one movie but none of those themes had more than 1 wave/film. The only real exception is Star Wars. I guess I misinterpreted your post then. I was talking more about the Jurassic franchise as a whole. Also Indiana Jones did have movies broken up across waves. Sets from the original trilogy were spread out across two years through multiple waves. Quote

Sorry, I don't think I saw Just2good's post, meaning if your set list is based on that it's probably the more correct one. Anyway, I like the idea of an exclusive set based on the original JP trilogy. It'd allow us to get some original trilogy minifigures-and a SPINOSAURUS! Hope this comes true. Quote
JakePley Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 I would love love love love to see more prehistoric/dinosour sets! Im like Mr. Dovak, i dont think my inner dinosaur ever left me! ....step brothers reference, anyone? Quote
Legoman123 Posted January 10, 2015 Posted January 10, 2015 Just to confirm are all the sets being released from Jurassic World or are we getting one or two from the original three movies? Quote
Pulp Detective Posted January 10, 2015 Posted January 10, 2015 (edited) Just to confirm are all the sets being released from Jurassic World or are we getting one or two from the original three movies? I believe this poster pretty much confirms that all the sets are based on the upcoming movie. Edited January 10, 2015 by LOTR34 Quote
*thomas* Posted January 12, 2015 Posted January 12, 2015 I agree,an exclusive set wont be bad.And if they do make one I hope it'll be based on JP3....Just the thought of a Lego Spinosaurus makes me excited!!! There has been a LEGO spinosaurus in the past. Quote
Pulp Detective Posted January 12, 2015 Posted January 12, 2015 There has been a LEGO spinosaurus in the past. I know,I meant a new updated Spino fully molded. Quote
*thomas* Posted January 13, 2015 Posted January 13, 2015 (edited) If (and that's a big if) they'd decide to make some kind of exclusive set about the JP trilogy, it'll mostly be with a scene from the first movie... As much as I love the first three movies, I'm not to sure about this fourth one. Strangely enough the choice of blue/white/grey makes it to Sciencefictional for me. Matti Posted January 13, 2015 Posted January 13, 2015 Lets not forget the great JP set on Ideas, with a brick built rex..! That would be a great tribute to the old movie Quote

TheOneVeyronian Posted January 15, 2015 Posted January 15, 2015 I was pondering over this thought the other day: they are mostly reusing Dino 2012 moulds for the Jurassic World dinosaurs, however I have a lot of doubt in my mind that they will reuse the Coelophysis mould for the Dilophosaurus in the Dilophosaurus Ambush set. Unfortunately I can see LEGO going ahead and doing that (A Coelophysis featured in the leaked dinos I think? Can't see where else it would fit), even though the Coelophysis mould does not look anything like a Dilophosaurus (for the fact it's completely missing the defining feature of a Dilophosaurus, the very feature that it's named for - two head crests). But I'm really hoping LEGO will issue a new mould, even a Dilophosaurus head for the raptor body, to please my inner palaeontologist. I'm actually surprised nobody else has mentioned this, but maybe that's just me being a bit of a dinosaur geek (I'm still waiting for appropriately sized LEGO Velociraptors) Otherwise, I am really looking forward to picking up all the sets in this theme, if only for all the dinosaurs. Hopefully we'll hear more about the sets come the Toy Fairs starting next week. Quote
Nacho Posted January 15, 2015 Posted January 15, 2015 I always tought the same thing. Even just the gate and jeep + minifigs would make a great set. That is the exact set I want! The jeep, the gates - iconic images from the first film that would translate really well into a Lego set. Quote
ChrisLikesDinos Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 Any new info on the sets? I saw Age of Ultron set descriptions and pics were out there, so I figured Jurassic World may be on the way. Tons of Hasbro pics have been hitting. Quote

Tons of Hasbro pics have been hitting. London Toy Fair is tomorrow, so I imagine we might be getting set descriptions of some kind from it. These are supposed to be released a couple of months after the release of the Age of Ultron sets (didn't someone say May?), so it doesn't surprise me that we haven't heard much from this theme... yet Quote
Quicksilver Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 The raptor rampage set sounds awesome along with the Ultra Dino Breakout. It'll definitely be interesting to see how they make the Gyro pods. Weird though that they only included Owen in 1 set. Saves more room for random park people. Quote
Backgild Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 I found an early London Toy Fair report from Brick Fanatics linked in Reddit. Quote: Jurassic World set coming out in May. Very dark grey and blue. 75916 Dilophosaurus Ambush £29.99 (New mold for dino) 75920 Raptor Escape £39.99 (Two raptors) 75919 Ultra Dino Breakout £99.99 (comes with D-Rex and gyro pods. has mosquito in amber brick) 75915 Pteranodon Capture (almost the same as the pteranodon takedown tower set. Fires a net.) 75917 Raptor Rampage £49.99 (Only set with Chris Pratt character in, riding a motorbike. Two raptors.) 75918 T-Rex tracker £59.99 Original story: http://brickfanatics.co.uk/london-toy-fair-2015-report/ Quote
Bbrink1996 Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 I think it's safe too assume that we will get set pictures of these during the German toy fair on the 28th of january. Anyway, I didn't expect these sets to be so expensive. Dilophosaurus Ambush is the cheapest and already is 29.99. Makes me wonder how big these sets are going to be. Quote
arc Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 Yay for the motorcycle set! These sound great, but pricey. Can't wait to see pics from Germany next week. Quote
*thomas* Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 (edited) Is is just me or is 29,99£ for the cheapest set a lot of money? I'm used to LEGO selling some intro set (or even of poly bag) for 10£... Just to give people a taste of a new theme/line... Hope they are worth it (high brick count), I don't want to pay for a license only. Edited January 20, 2015 by *thomas* Quote
Elrond Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 I believe this poster pretty much confirms that all the sets are based on the upcoming movie. I'm still trying to figure out what that vehicle in the bottom right corner is. It doesn't look like anything we've seen in the leaked promo pics. If anything it kinda looks like a JW version of the classic Jeep Wrangler from the first movie. Is is just me or is 29,99£ for the cheapest set a lot of money? With 2 velociraptor sets in the line, I was expecting one of them would have a lower price. Quote
ChrisLikesDinos Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 So, what are the chances of more detailed set information or pictures (I know they aren't allowed to be taken..) hitting anytime soon? I'm really interested to see these! I hope with those prices that they're fairly substantial. Quote

We probably won't be getting much else from London Toy Fair but on January 28 there is another Toy Fair in Germany (Forgot which city) that does allow pictures to be taken so chances are we will be seeing the JW sets then I think. I just can't believe Lego themselves hasn't really acknowledged the Jurassic World license via any standard outlets such as their own website. Quote
