We have many members from the Netherlands on here ... and I just saw the arrival of the first hearses on the news. Very 'moving' moment. Just wanted to express my sympathy/condolences to those who lost loved ones.

A student of mine (first grader in computer science) was also in that aircraft, together with a friend and his family. I didn't lecture him myself, but my direct colleagues did. Quite shocking indeed! Hope there comes eventually something good out of it and the losses will not be in vain, although it is still such a great misery for all people directly involved!

Hope the people behind the misery in Ukraine and Russia will also learn a lot from it and make peace instead of fighting each other.

Wow! It is indeed a very dark time with so many wars and dangerous places in the world.

My heart goes out to the many Dutch and Malaysians so directly touched by this shocking event. Having spent time around these countries recently, it really makes me depressed thinking about how badly they must feel. The Malaysians have been through this twice in less than a year. Many are losing their jobs because tourism is basically dead there. Their families will not be able to eat. And the loss of innocent lives is just too much. Neither they nor the Dutch deserve this fate.

We think of your people with heavy hearts and tears that don't want to stop. People deserve better than this. No war is worth the price paid in lives.

Not to forget the 37 Australian's who died as well, we as nation are still in shock......we have not had such an event effect us out side of Oz for about a decade.

We can only for some sanity, so they can stop the fighting, and allow the families to bring home their loved ones to their respected nations.

Thanks for this little message. My neighbor was one of the casualties. She was very loved by many people in my city.

Let's not forget our Australian and Malaysian brethren who lost many great people as well. And other nations too.
