Spoke to an employee from a British Legostore. He told me a HUGE SW set is on its way. At least the size of the Death Star. The employees did not know what set it was, but only it was huge. Probably released in January and announced very shortly before that.

A new Falcon? It will probably be in the 3000-5000 parts range.

Maybe he's speaking about the Slave I. Keep in mind it hasn't been officially revealed yet.

No, i asked him if he meant the Slave and he said it was NOT the Slave.

Cannot be January since slave 1 is coming very soon. The soonest would be May. It's only September 2014 and now we are just speculating after the Slave 1. Too far out to take that rumor into consideration....or even a grain of salt

That large? There aren't really a lot of viable subjects that big. A new Falcon. A Death Star style take on Cloud City?

I will go crazy if the next Cloud City is $400. Think; that is nearly half of a thousand dollars! Lego shouldn't, and probably won't, because how many people wanted the MF? Like, everyone. How many bought it? A very small fraction.

Hopefully, none of the other sets of 2015 will appeal to me, so that I can just buy one set: this. Because if I miss out on Ugnaughts, and Lando, and Bespin Leia, and Baspin Luke.......

The Imperial Troop Transport is a battle pack and comes with four Stormtroopers.

Then it's gotta be an "Uruk-Hai Army" battle pack (or bigger), since there's no way they can do the ITT justice, even Kenner-style with the troops' upper bodies hanging out of the sides, in a traditional BP style... It'd be a stretch even in a Battle of Naboo/Saleucami size set, right?

Edit: the grief the "Rebels ITT" idea is getting is less due to Rebels and more due to the idea that the stormies will be frowny-faced "Rebels-style" like the one from the Ghost... In the show they're stylized a bit to honor the McQuarrie concepts, but still obviously meant to be regular OT-style stormies.

TLG shouldn't even bother with the McQuarrie homage for them, particularly with the rest of the figures fitting in with movie-style figs, letting TLG focus on McQuarrie-style elements that turn up in other character outfits (like the different bike troopers in the sneak preview clip). That would enable any regular stormies in Rebels sets fit in with all our OT stormies, instead of looking frowny with curved belts.

I picked up the new lego dark side book on Friday and in it was a few scenes from ESB and cloud city, not too sure if it was a MOC for the book or something more...

The Bespin Luke had leg printing on him, cannot remember the last time we had a Bespin luke.

We've never even had a flesh Bespin Luke.

The original Bespin Luke had leg printing. Don't put too much stock in those images, tho; the face-off in the carbon freeze chamber features illegal connections TLG wouldn't feature in a set, and the pic of Bespin Luke falling is clearly digitally enhanced (the expression, for one, and it'd be simple to switch the yellow collar area to flesh). A new Bespin Luke figure needs dark tan hair like the Ewok Village Luke, too, so it doesn't blend with his outfit too much (Hamill's hair was never that light to begin with!). The platform the "reveal" takes place on looks like an awesome little build and might turn out to be a legitimate teaser, I suppose... but Luke needs to be better.

Ah, but they don't need to do it justice... like always the build will probably be an excuse to put a lot of figs in a small set.

Don't forget rumors about the Slave I als circulated for months before we saw the first pics...

That will be small then the ITT. Doesn't seem like it could be a proper representation of the Rebels version for that price :look: Perhaps its like the Dropship battlepack from years ago?

What are the illegal connections that TLG can't put in?

In the carbon freeze chamber image, the structures in the background feature illegal connections; the way the bars or hoses are held in the droid-arm clips would be extremely flimsy.

There's a difference between honoring something and using something because it's cheaper/quicker/easier than to create something new.

I'm not sure what you're getting at... In the show, they stylized the stormies to honor the McQuarrie concepts, as I said. In the Ghost set, Lego just altered the print on the existing stormie helmet mold (and the torso print), which was a waste of time and effort IMO, since other Rebels figures fit in with movie figures. It would've been cheaper to just use existing stormie prints, and far more preferable to fans. There are other McQuarrie concepts that'll be used in the show that would result in better unique figures for Lego to make. What they did in the Ghost, and probably in the ITT battlepack, was just unnecessary.

Disappointing to hear the ITT is a tiny "dropship"-style thing.

The ITT is small, like all the battle packs and is £11.99

Means January 2015 will be a cheap month for me (only interested in this set, Ezra's speederbike and the Skyhopper)...which is good since there are rumors a set of my favorite Tibanna Gas mine city is coming.

How do you know it would be preferable to fans? I quite like the fact that Rebels are featuring a slightly different Stormtrooper. It shows the evolution of them from Clones, to next gen clones, then the rebels Stormtrooper then the ones in the OT. I think Rebels is set 6 years before the battle of Yavin - they will change again for episode 7 and no doubt we will get versions of those too.

But anyway just because something preferable to you doesn't mean it is for everyone else. ;-)

There is no difference between the Rebels stormtroopers and the OT stormtroopers besides the art style used for the media in which they appear.

They sure look different to me:

I wasn't talking about the LEGO versions... I was responding to Mallet's post about the stormtroopers in the Rebels series,

there's a difference between the art styles, but no more than that - the Rebels stormtrooper is not supposed to be an earlier version of the stormtrooper outfit.
