LB2 is based on the classic look, but it seemes DC wants Lego and all other toy companies to make their producs bases on 52. Second that helmet is horrible, the bolts could break of and kids would swallow it. Quote
KCMatze Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 Since its rubber material they do not feel like breaking so easily to me... It is kind of possible though. But the helmetpiece is awesome. Cap needs one, too (yeah yeah I know Marvel ). Quote

KCMatze Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 Ooops, sorry then. I missunderstood that for Flash's helmet piece Quote
SoupOrFishOil Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 I don't see why they would bother making a New Flash, I mean why would TT games use the 2013 one if the sets are based on the game. The only difference between them will be either the expression or the colour of the ear pieces. There are a few reasons I can think of why Flash could be different in the Grodd set. TT doesn't always use the designs of upcoming minifigures for whatever reason, (for example, Scarecrow, Penguin, and Mr. Freeze in LB2,) probably because they don't get finalized designs early enough. With all of the other new designs in the game, it is more likely that a new Flash could be of a slightly odd variant (something like battle damaged, Arrowverse, Wally West, or who knows what else) so that TT would choose the regular one for the default. I also doubt that that is the case, so I expect Flash to be a repeat. I'm okay with that though, I can think of a few reasons for having multiple Flashes: There is (or was) more than one Flash, vignettes showing him moving at superspeed, his face would be good for a purist Firestorm, and the torso is suitable for Shazam. Second that helmet is horrible, the bolts could break of and kids would swallow it. Yeah, my first impulse when something breaks is to eat it right off of the floor, probably because teeth are better for dealing with LEGO than hands. Sorry, that statement just put that image in my head... I second that the game helmet was terrible though. Quote
psqidexslizer248 Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 ^ As long as you're over three you'll be fine... at least that's what the box said Quote
SMC Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 Its just seems odd getting the same flash when it is still in the shops. Quote
_epicster_ Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 Well, we have Batman duplicates, don't we? I think there's like 2-3 ways to get the black & yellow suit batman right now Quote
DJ Bricks Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 Its just seems odd getting the same flash when it is still in the shops. Legos done rhe same thing with City, hobbit/LOTR, and SW TCW Quote
LMB10 Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 People are confused about the same Flash being released when we've had the same Batman variants 4, 5 times? Quote
DJ Bricks Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 People are confused about the same Flash being released when we've had the same Batman variants 4, 5 times? Exactly. I have no problem believeing we.will get the same Flash and Aquaman. They already are new 52 based and no need to change them. Plus there.would only be minor differenes for a classic Flash. Quote
SMC Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 Well, we have Batman duplicates, don't we? I think there's like 2-3 ways to get the black & yellow suit batman right now Yeah but batman is in every set so... Quote
8BrickMario Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 (edited) Why would you want the bucket helmet? It's not graceful and streamlined like it should be, and the 2014 helmet does a good job of capturing it. Christo's custom made the bucket-style popular, but I think LEGO did better, since it's more Flash. I would hope for any variation for Flash and Aquaman, though, even if it is just new face prints. _epicster_ Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 If anything we should see boots on them, but I don't see boots in Flash artwork. Quote
SMC Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 Could flash be a stand in for reverse flash, they would get to reuse that new mold but still give us something different. But if it is flash he need boots. And if it ends up being the same as the last one we need at least 3 in total and then we can put them next to each other to make it look like he is going fast. Quote
8BrickMario Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 That would make a little bit of sense, only because there are already two heroes in the set and one villain. But from the flip side, having two Flash enemies in a set without him makes no sense. Quote

Numbuh1Nerd Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 Yeah, I'd like for them to get boot printing, too. At least Flash, anyway. The up side to duplicate Flashes is that you'll have a spare for customs (like the Firestorm purist I've been wanting to make for ages, or the Shazam some have mentioned on the purist superheroes forum)but Aquaman doesn't have a lot of use outside of being Aquaman. It would be nice if he could get a variant, or at least something unique (*coughcough*rideable seahorse*cough*) to make him worth it, although I'll be buying that set for Black Manta regardless. Btw, do you guys think Black Manta's helmet will be an actual helmet or just a whole head? Quote
8BrickMario Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 (edited) I would hope it's a helmet, since he's a human in a diving suit. The way the helmet points down over the torso in the game images suggests that it is a helmet that goes over a head, since they probably wouldn't make a head that could not be turned. And the helmet's not too small to be headgear, either. Darth Vader's helmet looks too small for a minifig, but it fits him fine. Edited August 27, 2014 by 8BrickMario Quote
TheAmazingDarkKnight Posted August 28, 2014 Posted August 28, 2014 More than likely Manta's "head" will be a whole mold like the simpsons figures. It would be pretty difficult to get that shape and have a minifig head underneath. Quote
Captain Nemo Posted August 28, 2014 Posted August 28, 2014 I don't feel it would be really difficult to have Manta's helmet allow a minifigure head inside; and I hope it does actually. It would just add more playability to the figure as a whole; plus give us a new African head (Granted another male; females are very much lacking in that department, but that's a whole other issue). There's so many other Lego helmets that fit figure heads, so it's not too much of a stretch to think they could make one that would work. As for Flash, I'm not expecting him to be different in this new set. And I doubt that he's a place-holder for Zoom; since having two Flash foes without Flash is just crazy. Flash doesn't seem to look different in LB3 than the one we just got, so I expect him to be exactly the same; which means no boot printing...maybe someday, like years down the road we'll get a correctly designed Flash. It is interesting though that Flash seems to be included in yet another high end set. I mean we got him in a $30 set, so it's a bit interesting to find out that he's in yet another expensive set; especally one that's actually more than his first appearance. Quote

punkkid364 Posted August 28, 2014 Posted August 28, 2014 The official box art for LB3 is out, and it looks like the new cowl we've seen on the space Batman is going to become the standard. I'm hoping that a new mold will allow us to use both the white eyes and the regular pupils...it's weird that Batgirl and Flash have regular eyes, but Batman doesn't. Quote
