Norrington Posted June 2, 2007 Posted June 2, 2007 (edited) Here are some of my custom torsos, which I shall update regularly. As you can see, my earlier ones had all most no strait lines and didn't stay inside the template, but I've gotten better. They are nothing on Mosana's, but I can take requests. My Early Torsos (Some are left out): Jack Sparrow V.2: Will Turner V.1: Pooped Pirate V.2: The Auctioneer V.1: Some of my newer torsos (all made about 10 minutes before this post): 1748 Royal Navy Captain: East India Co. Admiral (Norrington): East India Co. Leutenient: East India Co. Chairman (Beckett): They are better than before, but they all require more "tinkering". Once moderated, the whole decal-tastic gallery: Gallery As allways, comments and constructive critiscisom are welcome. Edited June 2, 2007 by Norrington Quote
Norrington Posted June 2, 2007 Author Posted June 2, 2007 (edited) Double post! This probably should have been edited, but what the heck. Soon after this posting, I realized I had not done the good Commodore himself. Here he is, unfinished. Still need to figure out how to do the braids on his lapels without them being uneven. I suppose this warrants a re-do of his Admiral's uniform 8-| Here it is, unfinshed: Which warrants a re-do of the EITC officers to match: Which warrants new: A new Beckett, and a new (my own) EITC marine... Done. Man, I'm on a roll... Edited June 2, 2007 by Norrington Quote
Eurobricks Emperor Bonaparte Posted June 2, 2007 Eurobricks Emperor Posted June 2, 2007 Nice job Mr. Norrington! It's good to see you started your own customs thread! Just for making my life easy, could you add some indications (especially in the 2nd post) of the categories these should be in. Also which name they should get. You know that I never watched PoTC, so that's why it is not always clear for me. Quote
Norrington Posted June 2, 2007 Author Posted June 2, 2007 (edited) They could go in Britain, PotC, or both. The top is the Good Commodore himself (unfinished), so he could be "Commodore" under British or Commodore Norrrington under PotC. The second could be East Inda Co. Admiral under British or Admiral Norrington under PotC, the third could be under British as East India Co. Officer, the 4th could go under PotC as "Lord Cutler Beckett, and the third under British as "East India Co. officer." Edit: The East India Company Admiral (Norrington) is done: Sad... I've made all my decals in the first post obsolete... They all need re-dos! MWAH HA HA HA! Edited June 2, 2007 by Norrington Quote
Eurobricks Emperor Bonaparte Posted June 2, 2007 Eurobricks Emperor Posted June 2, 2007 (edited) You're skills are improving Mr. Norrington. Can you have a look in the library to see that everything is in the correct place? Edited June 2, 2007 by bonaparte Quote
Norrington Posted June 2, 2007 Author Posted June 2, 2007 (edited) You're skills are improving Mr. Norrington. Can you have a look in the library to see that everything is in the correct place? I would put the finished verison of the Admiral Norrington first, then the unfinished second, and in the East India Company, put the better looking officer (with orange trim) first, the same with the Beckett, also, I am allmost finished with Commodore Norrington so you should put the finished version first also... And that's it at current. Edit: I finished the good Commodore and redid my original torsos. Though Jack and The auctioneer could use some work. Edited June 2, 2007 by Norrington Quote
snefroe Posted June 2, 2007 Posted June 2, 2007 just wondering how they look minifig sized, though... Quote
Norrington Posted June 2, 2007 Author Posted June 2, 2007 (edited) just wondering how they look minifig sized, though... I have allready resiszed them for Minifigs, and they look pretty good. EDIT: Just made this about 5 minutes ago: Edited June 2, 2007 by Norrington Quote
El Bucanero Posted June 2, 2007 Posted June 2, 2007 (edited) You indeed have been getting better! I love the Commodore torso, really! I'll have to try him out sometime... A vast improvement. Mr Tiber Edited June 2, 2007 by Mr Tiber Quote
Norrington Posted June 2, 2007 Author Posted June 2, 2007 (edited) Here is the latest addition: A captain unifom based on the one Norrington was wearing (on the Dauntless when they rescue Elizabeth) And Gov. Weatherby Swann, or in other words, a rich guy: I'e allmost run out of inspiration for torsos, so, requests anyone? Edited June 2, 2007 by Norrington Quote

Fordo Posted June 2, 2007 Posted June 2, 2007 Great design would you mind making a Captain Tague (Jack's Dad) decal? Not sure If I can find a good reference pic. Quote

Governor Mister Phes Posted June 2, 2007 Governor Posted June 2, 2007 You've been quite busy lately Norrington. Will you ever print these toros out and apply them to mini-figures, or do you just enjoy designing them? Quote
Norrington Posted June 2, 2007 Author Posted June 2, 2007 (edited) You've been quite busy lately Norrington. Will you ever print these toros out and apply them to mini-figures, or do you just enjoy designing them? A little of both. I've allready used my: Commodore Norrington Admiral Norrington Napoleon Bonaparte Lord Cutler Beckett 4 Est. In. Co. Marines Fordo- I'll level with you. I can't remember how Tauge's clothing looks. I all I can remember was that it was red and black, and google was no help. So I'll base the decal on Muppet Treasure Island's Long John Silver, which is a red coat, black lapels with gold trim. I'll try and get it done soon. Edit: I finished it, and as pedicted it's just a MTI Jong-John (at least I'll have a use for it.) Edited June 3, 2007 by Norrington Quote
Norrington Posted June 3, 2007 Author Posted June 3, 2007 (edited) All right, so far I've done Admiral/Commodore, and Captain, so to complete the uniforms for the Royal Navy, here is a lieutenant and a midshipman. Any more requests? Edited June 6, 2007 by phred Quote
Norrington Posted June 3, 2007 Author Posted June 3, 2007 Hate to double post, but... I made this torso for Horatio Nelson: Requests? Anyone? Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted June 5, 2007 Governor Posted June 5, 2007 A little of both. You got any examples of torso you've applie to mini-figures that you can show us? Quote
Lamanda2 Posted June 5, 2007 Posted June 5, 2007 (edited) Very nice work on all of these decals, Norrington. I really enjoy that last one you posted, Horatio Nelson. Each decal seems to be even better than the last! I take it you have been using Microsoft Paint to design all these? A pretty tricky program to get used to, I had been using it to make my decals up until about two weeks ago, and then I found the Free program, Paint.Net. It controls much like MS Paint, but works very smoothly with layers and such. (And it's non-pixel-y) (Example of one of my newer decals using Paint.Net) You should check it out, It's really fun and easy to use, and I know you could produce some real masterpieces, you are quite good at decal-making.. :-) ~Amanda Edited June 6, 2007 by phred Quote
Norrington Posted June 5, 2007 Author Posted June 5, 2007 (edited) You got any examples of torso you've applie to mini-figures that you can show us? Yes I do have pictures of them with my army, but my pesky older sister took my USB cord and hasn't returned it yet. And Amanda, thanks for that link! I'll give the program a spin and tell what I think. Edited June 5, 2007 by Norrington Quote
SirScottLego Posted June 6, 2007 Posted June 6, 2007 Norrington, Every design you create gets better and better. My only suggestion would be to "stroke" your medals with a black line. Basically, making them stand out and not letting them get lost in the jacket. Fantastic work. Keep up the great efforts, and be nice to your sister... They have a way of growing up! Quote
Norrington Posted June 6, 2007 Author Posted June 6, 2007 (edited) and be nice to your sister... They have a way of growing up! Thanks for the comments! And those sisters do grow up... considering that my sister is in college visiting home for the summer. Edited June 6, 2007 by phred Quote
