... or at least that was what it was supposed to look like :classic:

[EDIT]

V2 with LDD file

[/EDIT]

Hello all,

This is my latest steam engine, based on a USRA 0-8-0.

It features BBB Medium drivers.

The thing is powered by a M-motor, and receives current through a emptied 9V train motor (don't worry, it broke before I took it apart)

It features some pressure gauges.

I originally intended to add a decoupler based on this design, but the tender would become too long to look good with the engine itself.

The light gray area is for a logo which I still have to create and print.

Thanks for looking, improvement points are appreciated :classic:

I think the footplate at the front needs to be a couple of studs further forward, looking at the pics on google of similar engines, none of them have that much smokebox overhang (and it would also hide the grey technic bar the coupling is connected to too).

Otherwise, really nice job.

I like it, I like steam engines and this one is very nice (any YT video?). It gives me samo more energy to continue on my own Lego train projects :) m.

Thanks for the feedback, I will post updated pictures soon.

Very nice MOC!

I like the SNOT work on the windows!

Thank you :classic:

That is a nice little engine with some great features.

Thank you!

I made some small improvements, the footplate is extended with 1 stud and the transmission is changed.

When I have some spare money, I will shorten the boiler with 2 studs.

PS. I was thinking of making a LDD file for it, would there be interest in it?

I'm not likely to build any American outline locos any time soon, but I'd totally like to see you publish the LDD file. The most frustrating thing for me when I first got into Lego trains was that next no one who makes really good steam models, who have a decent knowledge of steam loco building techniques, seem to want to share their LDD files.
