Eurobricks Emperor Bonaparte Posted May 31, 2007 Eurobricks Emperor Posted May 31, 2007 (edited) I recently got an Imperial Trading Post (6277). Problem is that the merchant ship is missing 1 sail. Now I need to (somehow) make that sail out of canvas (or something else that looks rather similar). Is there a good Samaritan that is willing to take a scan of the sail (scale 1:1), so I have the size and form? This is a (small picture) from BL: It's the one on the back of the merchant ship. You can see it on the extreme left side of this picture. Edited May 31, 2007 by bonaparte Quote
Scouty Posted May 31, 2007 Posted May 31, 2007 I would be able to do. In fact, I would even make it to a sail. Though, I don't have that sail, so I would be unable to do so. Sorry :( (EDIT: <= Sad face). Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted May 31, 2007 Governor Posted May 31, 2007 I think I scanned that sail for Captain Roger. No wait. It was for the Skulls Eye Schooner. Nevermind X-D Quote
oo7 Posted May 31, 2007 Posted May 31, 2007 This folder has scans of most (if not all) of the pirate sails produced by Lego, although they are not 1:1 scale. However, I would be happy to resize Merthyn's sail scan to the proper scale for you, Bonaparte. :) Done! By the way, look at the post of poor ImperialScouts. I think we need to integrate my sad emotion into the pirate forum emotions Javascript! Once someone who owns a better digital photo editing program than I do makes it transparent, that is. http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/000/Smil...ir_unhappy2.gif Quote
Piranha Posted June 1, 2007 Posted June 1, 2007 Thank you oo7 for the link :) I am rebuilding the renegade runner and I couldn't find the sail So I needed a scan so I could make some custom ones You have saved me the trouble of asking for a scan Piranha Quote
Scouty Posted June 1, 2007 Posted June 1, 2007 Someone who has all the sets...*cough*like Phes*cough* ('scuse me ;-) ) could scan all the sails and put them into an index. Mainly for continuality of the same background. Quote
oo7 Posted June 1, 2007 Posted June 1, 2007 I'm a sad seal.........Would this suffice? How did you possibly read enough of my post to take my emotion and give it a transparent background, but so little of it you hyperlinked Mr. Merthyn's sail scan? :S His scans are too large compared to he original subject of which he scanned. The picture prints bigger than the actual sail is in reality. Andy you're certainly welcome, Mr. Piranha. *y* Quote
Scouty Posted June 1, 2007 Posted June 1, 2007 I read your post...already had photoshop up....copy image...paste into PS...remove backgrounds...save as gif....put it on my BS account...posted here, saying that I'm a very sad seal. I just went to the folder of Mr. Merthyn...clicked on the sail, clicked on it again...saw that it was bigger than the one you posted...figured it was 1:1...posted it. :capn: . EDIT: GAH! You did an edit! Sorry, bout that. Quote

I see you're very organized, Commander. ;-) You've got a great happy-go-lucky sing-song little agenda there. I was wondering why you would have posted it again after myself, but either way it's not a big deal. :) And I edited it seconds before your post was published, I figured it needed to be more clear. Scouty Posted June 1, 2007 Posted June 1, 2007 I actually can't take credit for the sad seal bit X-D , but thank you. Once again, sorry for the misunderstandings. Quote
oo7 Posted June 1, 2007 Posted June 1, 2007 I actually can't take credit for the sad seal bit X-D Why is that? Is it because Mr. Phes himself is the authentic, original Sad Seal? X-D Once again, sorry for the misunderstandings. No problem...there is really almost no need to apologize! :-P Quote
Scouty Posted June 1, 2007 Posted June 1, 2007 Exactly Mr. oo7! But can't there be more than one sad seal...right ? Quote
Eurobricks Emperor Bonaparte Posted June 2, 2007 Author Eurobricks Emperor Posted June 2, 2007 (edited) Thanks for providing the sail (and resizing it). I'll start printing it right away. What's this sad seal discussion? Anyway, don't let me interfere your little chit-chat X-D Edited June 2, 2007 by bonaparte Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted June 2, 2007 Governor Posted June 2, 2007 It would be good if we could get a library of these sails, wouldn't it? Quote
oo7 Posted June 3, 2007 Posted June 3, 2007 It would be good if we could get a library of these sails, wouldn't it? Mr. Phes acting suspiciously oblivious........ :-P Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted June 3, 2007 Governor Posted June 3, 2007 I meant every official sail that was used in the Pirate theme and maybe some that were used in other themes. From time to time we get people requesting sail scans so if we had a library with ALL of them we could just direct them towards that. Quote
jamtf Posted June 3, 2007 Posted June 3, 2007 I happen to have a spare set of original 6268 Renegade Runner sails that I am willing to sell or trade. If anyone is interested in acquiring them, please send me a PM. P.S. Mods, please do not move this to the buy and trade section since they do not NEED to be sold, I am only willing to help out Pirate Lego enthusiasts who are by coincidence looking for these. Quote

Use the sails on the webpage that oo7 provided? Here is what I did with the scan of my missing sail. I've been playing with the scan to make the printed version match the color of the other sails. There is still a slight difference in color, but I'm happy with the result! Thanks again guys!! Edited June 3, 2007 by bonaparte Quote

Mainly for continuality of the same background. I feel overlooked... but rather change it to many(?)...... The new sails look good Bonaparte! And now I know the odd connection for that back sail...hehee. But thos look great, and I can barely tell of color difference, from the pictures, at least. Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted June 4, 2007 Governor Posted June 4, 2007 How do you plan to do this? I'd like to create a webpage on Classic-Pirates.com with all the sails but first I should obtain permission from the Brickshelf Folder owner - Merthyn1@yahoo.com. The idea is someone searching for the sails in Google will find them on Classic-Pirates.com. Eventually I plan to have a webpage on Classic-Pirates.com for everything Pirate LEGO related, and then we can have a thread in the forum which mirrors the page in the first post. The rest of these threads can be devoted to discussion or suggestions. So you (or whoever) might like to create a thread with all the sails on display in the first post and the rest of the thread can be used for discussion and suggestions. Eventually I'll create the corresponding page on Classic-Pirates.com and we can link the two together. Quote
Piranha Posted June 19, 2007 Posted June 19, 2007 I am missing the main sail of the renegade runner with the skull and crossbones Could someone take scan of it and then resize it to 1:1 scale? Thankz Piranha Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted June 20, 2007 Governor Posted June 20, 2007 I see we badly need that sail library! The recent Missing sail of Imperial Trading Post ship thread has recently addressed this matter and I believe you'll find what you seek there. Once you read this post let me know and I shall merge the two threads. Quote
