Pate-keetongu Posted June 9, 2014 Posted June 9, 2014 Many of action figure forum users seem to complain about the new chima chest armor having only one connection point... I think one ball socket is fine enough, but piece never looked very manly! This MOC started as a ordinary (well, not really ordinary) steampunk adventure gal (see concept art made on train), but after giving her a beret everything started to look so artistic, so I made a painting, a stand and paiting accessories. Everyone likes that sort of stuff, right? The figure itself uses quite a many parts from CHI Laval. The chest piece is the key element here, but I think that the add-on armors work quite well on the knees, too. The hair is from Laval too - it's not supposed to be on fire, but I think the bright color works quite well with the white skin (never enough tan, sadly) and earthy steampunk tones. There's more stuff on my blog too, and some extra shots on Flickr and Brickshelf. Quote
TheOneVeyronian Posted June 9, 2014 Posted June 9, 2014 This is beautiful stuff. I love the cohesive, gapless look, the NPU's are genius (I particularly like how you used the minifig broom as part of a brush, might have to borrow that idea ) and the painting is a really nice add-on. Your MOC's never fail to impress me pig, great stuff! Quote
Lady K Posted June 9, 2014 Posted June 9, 2014 Very beautiful! I love the paints, brush and painting as artistic elements added on. The hair frames her face perfectly and the way you did the eyes give the impression of deep thought. The chest plate works perfectly. Quote
Infernum Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 Awesome! Love the hair, and the torso is awesome! Quote

Leewan Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 You have an excellent MOCcing style, pig. The colors are well chosen, you use brillant techniques, and the subject is original, it's rare to see human beings built in a Constraction form. The only bit I don't really like is the shoes, I think they are supposed to have heels, but it look a bit weird. Quote
Cirkit Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 'This-Girl-is on fi-i-ire' Seriously, though- I do love that hair. And I like that the 'Chima' parts are being put to good use. The gold chest part makes her look like she's wearing a corset. I imagine, the way the back is with the gold buttons, that probably was the intent. :p I also really like the add-on armor from the same 'Chima' set. This just proves the pearl gold and 'Metru' red were made for each other I also really enjoy her easel and her brush. That is a very cool brush! The brick-built painting is very creative. Makes good use of those 'Chima' wings. The only thing that bothers me are her feet. Is she in heels, are they boots? To me the latter seems more correct, but it is a little tough to tell. Overall, pig, I very much enjoy your creation. Quote
Pate-keetongu Posted June 11, 2014 Author Posted June 11, 2014 Thanks for your kind words bros! They are sort of a heeled boots, yes, without separate heel part. Quote
Sir Walter Maugham Posted July 14, 2014 Posted July 14, 2014 (edited) Man, I'm really impressed with this build. So many creative part uses here. I love all the accessories on her belt, and the minifig backpacks being used as pouches is simply genius. Actually, I just love the whole belt to bits. Also, the hair looks great. The gradient effect on the flame piece adds a nice pop. And the overall shape and proportions are spot on. Top tier stuff here, keep it up. Edited July 14, 2014 by Sir Walter Maugham Quote
