Freebuild: The Assassination

This is set a week before my Palace Entry build. You'll have to picture it at midnight.

It was afternoon when Heinsen gave the assassin the orders.

Heinsen: Meet me at the Palace Gate at midnight.

Midnight

Heinsen: Go!

Five minutes later, the duke of Carn walks into the scene.

The deed is done.

No one liked the old duke, so Heinsen took it upon himself to kill him. I'll do something on Carn's history sometime.

Nice job! I like the coloring and the arches, and the SNOT bricks give a nice, easy texture to the bottom walls.

Thanks! I wanted to put some foliage in it and what better way than SNOT bricks! There probably is a better way, but I have a tiny brain. Hehe

Nice little build UtilityBelt, i like the compact footprint with the tall tower, and the way your eye is led to the main ground floor archway, where the majority of the action takes place. Given that, i would have concentrated most of your effort into making that ground floor arch as impressive as you can - here it looks just a little ragged. (The crossed spears are a neat touch though!) The action poses of the minifigs are handled well, although i'd really like to understand a little more of what's going on! A link to some backstory on why Heinsen is targeting the duke would be awesome.

Keep the builds coming! I would try different combinations of bricks and develop an architectural style for Carn. Think of the building materials the LEGO bricks are "representing". It should help you build more detailed structures.

Thanks, Mike! When I created Carn, I was going to make it based of of Middle-Eastern style building, and also PoP style. Sometime latter this month I should have a freebuild up with -CarsonHaupt- of one of the gates. I'll make a model house in it!
