cimddwc Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 Hello everyone, between all this sorting and slow continuation on the area around my train station, I got something I can present here - 25 colorful steps: Inspired by real colorful stairs such as in Istanbul during the protests there last year. And in case someone is wondering why there are Star Wars people walking around: There must be a big SW fan convention somewhere in town... So many colors, and there were still some left... wouldn't have been possible to build this in the 1980s. :) I forgot a sign on that bar at the bottom right - "use lakeside path at your own risk" or similar. » Flickr set Quote

Redhead1982 Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 The stairs look lovely and lively! You did a great job including some colour into a grey (but not boring) walls of the station. Well done! Quote
TheLazyChicken Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 Wonderful! I really like all the colors you have included! Great job! Quote
L@go Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 This is a very nice addition - to an incredible project. Do you have any progress plans on it - when you'll finish it, or at least part of it, so you can display it somewhere? I'd love to see it :) Quote
streifen Posted June 3, 2014 Posted June 3, 2014 Nice stairs you have there! By the way, the stairs is leading up to some housing on baseplates? How are these secured to the rest of your build? Quote
cimddwc Posted June 3, 2014 Author Posted June 3, 2014 Thanks, everyone! Do you have any progress plans on it - when you'll finish it, or at least part of it, so you can display it somewhere? I'd love to see it :) Finish? Given all the time spent with sorting and, well, non-Lego stuff in life, that will take many years. (And if I'd finish it soon, what would I do next...?) But it's not meant to be displayed in total anywhere in public, only parts of it from time to time - the Pet Shop Street was on display at the Bricking Bavaria events last year in Munich and this year in Dachau (near Munich) . By the way, the stairs is leading up to some housing on baseplates? How are these secured to the rest of your build? Just like on the left of the gap, as you can see in the last picture: non-Lego things called wood, reinforced with steel. The baseplates on the right are just overhanging a little. Quote
Kristel Posted June 3, 2014 Posted June 3, 2014 Looks so cheery! I like that there is the smooth part for the bicycles. Quote
haddock Posted June 3, 2014 Posted June 3, 2014 It's a very nice addition to the city , works in really well Quote
trippybrowneyes Posted June 3, 2014 Posted June 3, 2014 This is so magical and fun - it totally embodies the spirit of Lego. :) Quote
Gottsfritz Posted June 3, 2014 Posted June 3, 2014 Excellent, great rainbow stairway to heaven, rs. Quote
Kivi Posted June 3, 2014 Posted June 3, 2014 Nice work, it really brings a cheerful variation into a grey surroundings. The colours in each separate part of the staircase are also cleverly arranged - colder colours together, brighter colours together etc. Well done. Quote
rollermonkey Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 I like that you incorporated the bicycle ramp. Haven't seen that since I lived in Japan. Quote
Hobbythom Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 I love this! I am a sucker for displays with height difference and this a great addition to it! Quote
2013-lego Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 (edited) It somehow adds so much character. Great work! Edited June 4, 2014 by 2013-lego Quote
ShadowWolfHount Posted August 30, 2014 Posted August 30, 2014 This looks great, love the use of all of those colors but it would be great if those slope pieces had the colors as well. Also I think there is also a Lego Movie fan convention :P Quote
CityBuilder Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 Thats really, colourful? Excellent build, all around. Quote
