DasMatze Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 As I was building a model in LDD lately (mainly for rebrickable.com) I found out the colors available in the limited mode do not represent the colors available in sets (I hoped so). Therefore I wonder if it might be a good idea to create multiple LDD palettes which include one piece of every available color to not make mistakes when building. I wrote "multiple LDD palettes" because there should be one for frequent used colors/pieces and if the part is not available you can switch to another one with rarely used colors/pieces. Or does such a palette even exist already? Quote
Classicsmiley Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 That wouldn't be worth the effort, at least for me. If I'm planning on building something physically, I'll run the LDD file through LDD Manager, and use that to help catch any non-existent part/color combinations that I might have missed. Quote
Lego Otaku Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 non extended mode are mostly limited to legal colors but I have seen parts that are still illegal. You can grab LDDManager and use it to check color, it will tell you if it's a rare color or nonexistient so you can revise the set as needed. AFAIK there isn't a way to set LDD to use only legal colored parts. Quote
DasMatze Posted May 30, 2014 Author Posted May 30, 2014 Oh, I didn't notice that feature of LDD Manager. I only used it to create palettes. Then it's not worth it as you pointed out. Quote
Superkalle Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 Please note LDD Manager is not updated to the latest brickset yet. I'm waiting for the release/fix for the Technic shock absorber etc. Quote
