JM1971 Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 (edited) As well as other problems I've noticed because the newest update is removing suspension parts from a file created just a few weeks ago. Remove file - C:\Users\USER NAME\AppData\Roaming\LEGO Company\LEGO Digital Designer\db.lif The add firewall entry to block this file from connecting to the net - "C:\Program Files (x86)\LEGO Company\LEGO Digital Designer\LDD.exe" 1. From start menu, search for "Firewall" and select Windows Firewall with Advanced Security 2. Choose Outbound Rules from the tree at the left. 3. Choose New Rule... from the menu at the right. 4. New Outbound Rule Wizard opens. This is really easy now: a. Select Program as rule type. b. Select the program's EXE file. c. Choose Block the connection. 5. Choose the profile this rule applies to. If in doubt, select all three. 6. Add the descriptive name (you may want to delete this rule later). When you start LDD it will take around 15 seconds to give up trying to connect and will ask you if you want to run offline, press yes. Edited May 12, 2014 by JM1971 Quote
Superkalle Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 From what I've been told, the LDD Team are working on fixing the shock absorber issue, along with the color palette in LDD mode. So if you can hold out for a few weeks, it should get fixed. Quote
JM1971 Posted May 12, 2014 Author Posted May 12, 2014 (edited) Fair enough, but I'm right in the middle of doing a pf buggy, once the fix is done the firewall rule can be deleted and ldd will update itself, forgot to mention that. Edited May 12, 2014 by JM1971 Quote
Bricksandparts Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 Superkalle, since it seems you know of the team's plans, do you happen to know if they are also fixing the launch problem? Just for clarity, when LDD launches, it says it's installing bricks, and when it finally finishes, it simply closes without even a crash message. Quote
Superkalle Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 Superkalle, since it seems you know of the team's plans, do you happen to know if they are also fixing the launch problem? Good question. Firstly, I normally only report brick issues to the LDD Team, and when I do that they sometime hint to me that they are planning a fix "shortly" so I can pass it on here. The info about "a couple of weeks" is in all honestly my guess, based on how long time these sort of things usually take. Secondly, about the launch issue, I honestly don't know since I focus on the brick bugs and not so much SW bugs. Also it's kind of tricky with launch issues, because they tend to be sporadic and/or difficult to pin-point; Sometimes they are due to server issues, sometimes because of issues on the users computer, and sometimes because of...well, other things. In this case, I'd call the LEGO Customer Services, because then the LDD Team would get reports also through the official channels which actually sometimes is more effective then it coming from us in the community. JunkstyleGio Posted May 17, 2014 Posted May 17, 2014 Good advice.. I will give the CS a call and will make a formal complaint about the shockabsorber. Quote
