So nice to see classic comic book versions rather than the ultimate/movie versions that we're going to get from Lego.

Hear hear!

But honestly i think it's just a picture they took from somewhere and that they won't make brand new superheroes from that leaflet.

It would be great though, but i dont see it happen.

Agreed that they'll be terrible... Whatever they are.

Fingers crossed that it'll be the thing that jogs Decool and SY into them as previously mentioned.

Damn you, Dargo and your rubbish moulds and print!

Thanks! I'm glad you guys like it. It's not quite as pretty from the back, but the parts I messed up on kinda work only because Groot is supposed to be wood.

I removed the head from the original torso with a Dremel cutting wheel, and, from there, I trimmed up the neck with an X-acto. If you look at some of the pics I added to my Flickr ( https://www.flickr.c...in/photostream/ ), you can see a part where I cut too much and made a little gap. You have to be careful, because the head is not solid. Some parts of the plastic where I trimmed got discolored, so I heated them a little with a lighter to get them back to about the original color/sheen.

In order to fit the head on a minifig torso, I drilled a hole with an 1/8' bit (I had to wobble the hole out a little after I drilled the first hole to make it fit properly). This will probably be the trickiest step for most. Again, because the head isn't solid, you have to be careful. It's really not easy to drill exactly where you want because the bit is going to want to go into one of the gaps that is already there. I had the drill on a high speed and went really slowly (with the head held in a clamp for safety). I honestly think i just got lucky with how good the angle ended up being.

Also, Digger318 added a bunch of video reviews.

Thanks for the description, that's very helpful.

I will be attempting this exact same MOC project sometime next year. Hope I can reach out to you with a few questions then.

In the meantime, great job!!!

what do you think about 7105? is it 7888?

Not strictly on topic, but could someone PM me if they find any of those military sets on Ebay. Interested in multiples. :classic:

Sounds like it could be a promising start to the year - if those molds are alright anyway!

SDCC Rocket is immediately on my wanted list

SDCC Rocket Raccoon figure is not as hard to find anymore. It was released as a poly bag and it is fairly cheap on ebay lowest buy it now price I have seen is $6 USD roughly £3 highest being being $20 roughly £10

This is such a welcome move by TLG. Perhaps it might be wishful thinking, but I'd like to think that our input about the SDCC exclusives may have had some influence in a wider distribution...

Ultimately, they'll make more money selling 150 minifigs at 15 bucks each than selling 15 at 100 bucks each.

Absolutely, not to mention the goodwill they get from making it available via a wider distribution. My hat's off to TLG.

That's the thing about SDCC figures I've never really got.

I understand that there are people that won't like bootlegs at all... and that's fine. But the SDCC figure market is dictated not by Lego fans... but by scalpers... It's a raffle (if done legit but it's funny how some resellers get so many) so the distribution is arbitrary.

If customisers or bootleggers for that matter can make a figure that's 95% of the official one then it's fair game for me. Phoenix Customs will soon have a Collector figure out and it's actually lightly more accurate than the official SDCC version if you ask me... and came in at around £20.

Making the figures non-exclusives would hurt noone other than the profiteers so I simply don't see the point in them anymore.

Why i like sdcc figures is because they choose figures that are not likely to be made into a set. What i like about bootleggers is that they copy those figs haha

Btw where is bootleg spiderwoman >:-(?? And spidey in his black symbiote outfit?

Black Symbiote is just Venom with a custom head (NACM do a nice pad printed one)... He's easy... Spiderwoman and 2011 Batman are still missing amazingly!

If you find one for £3 give me a shout!

not likely to be made in sets? This sounds like something you made up. Every SDCC should be made in sets not limited to a give away that only few should get. This is why I have no sympathy for Lego when it comes to bootleggers making copies of them.

this is Dargo's new minifigures list

but you know their quality... :sceptic:

Who is the figure in yellow supposed to be? Whiplash and Crossbones look cool. I am skeptical about the quality

With TLC making a polybag winter soldier and a few dc characters (at least four), should this be seen as a strategy against the bootleg companies? If so we can expect more figs as specials or polybags in the future i hope.

Does anyone seen new decool or sy superheroes?

Do TLG ever release any of these poly bags outside of the US? I only ever see them marked up on eBay or Amazon.
