drazplaz Posted August 23, 2015 Posted August 23, 2015 Your comment was unnecessary. Feel free to sit around and wait for one to show up from Aliexpress, no telling what you are gonna get in the mail, misprinted, wrong orders. Same from overseas ebay sellers. You are getting what you pay for.....just sayin It's a valid concern. The vast majority of orders I get from aliexpress are fine, and when there's an issue, sellers are again almost always willing to send out a replacement of issue a partial refund etc. There is 'telling' what you're going to get, sellers on ali have feedback just like on ebay, so you know when you're in safe hands, or when you're rolling the dice a bit. A huge part of the point of these bootlegs is that they're at such a low price point - too many middlemen will only result in unnecessary price inflation. Aliexpress is a middleman site in the first place, even - there because people who can't speak/read Chinese can't order from Alibaba or what have you. Pointing out that you charge more shouldn't be seen as an unreasonable attack - it was a truthful statement - the fact you got so rankled by it perhaps shows that you know you're another link in a chain that was already complete.

I understand Chinese so I order my figs from taobao most of the time, the price difference is pretty huge to me. That being said, you provide assurance of quality that i can never get from taobao sellers so I guess that makes up for the price difference. Then again, I haven't had much problem ordering from taobao or aliexpress..... Once again, just my opinion.
Flaminatrix1 Posted August 24, 2015 Posted August 24, 2015 (edited) Is anyone else wondering if lego or knock off companies will be making the full suit range for iron man that will be featured in TLG style in the new Lego: Avengers videogame? As its been revealed that all the suits are to get the official treatment and therefore will be alot more accurate and probably contain more pieces on individual suits to distinguish them :P like the new MK 33 pre order bonus for example? I still want more X-men and more minor characters (Spider-man villains, King Pin, Saber tooth, Squirrel Girl, etc...)
joelyface Posted August 25, 2015 Posted August 25, 2015 (edited) looks like lezi did a Fantastic Four set, although not really sure that dragon ball z hair is workin? Maybe good for a ghost rider custom? http://www.aliexpres...2444777232.html Edited August 25, 2015 by joelyface

kid Posted August 25, 2015 Posted August 25, 2015 Digger just posted this on FB. They look cool! I hope the quality is good.
Borex Posted August 25, 2015 Posted August 25, 2015 Digger just posted this on FB. They look cool! I think they dont really look like lego. Its design is to far away from the lego design for my liking

Krikkit Posted August 26, 2015 Posted August 26, 2015 I like them, and they cant be claimed to be knock offs, they are original designs.
agoodfella77 Posted August 26, 2015 Posted August 26, 2015 I like them, and they cant be claimed to be knock offs, they are original designs. I can dig the big fig Hulkbuster -- it's much better than the previous Decool one (although in their defense they were simply using the video game design).
Frozen Assasin Posted August 26, 2015 Posted August 26, 2015 Okay, because reading 187 pages is quite tiresome - can anyone of you say if Decool or any other bootleger released Vertigo minifigures ? I would gladly sell a vital organ for a Constantine minifgure or Death.

Shame they don't dip into some independent (Are Vertigo and Epic dependent?) titles that will never be made by Lego.

Shame they don't dip into some independent (Are Vertigo and Epic dependent?) titles that will never be made by Lego. Epic was a subsidary of Marvel, while Vertigo/Wildstorm were both subsidaries of DC. That's the reason why I thought that at least someone made a custom of John and as a result, some bootlegger who recreated it for a reasonable price.
Robianco Posted August 26, 2015 Posted August 26, 2015 (edited) Creating Constantine can be pretty easy though... even if it's not perfect. Edited August 26, 2015 by Robianco
kid Posted August 26, 2015 Posted August 26, 2015 Interesting-ish??? I am not sure what to make of those. I want to be excited but I can not figure out what the figures (other than the exact lego copies) are supposed to be.
dirk Posted August 26, 2015 Posted August 26, 2015 Any word on SY370 set (Attack on Avengers tower)? Has anyone received their set yet or heard if they have started shipping yet? The Aliexpress seller gave me a tracking number although I doubt that it's legit.
Robianco Posted August 26, 2015 Posted August 26, 2015 I'm more interested in them being a new company in the bootleg market. They have three figures to copy as well as 5 new figures/variants so we'll get to see just how good their moulds are as well as how good their artwork and printing department are.

Borex Posted August 26, 2015 Posted August 26, 2015 (edited) Those antmen. Lol. They have my attention. Too bad they didnt make like real antman variations : comic yellowjacket, giantman, wasp etc. Anyway a lot of small ants to make an ant army too. That's a plus. Edited August 26, 2015 by Borex

Other than the Lego copies, the other figures look like they're just the same figures with different color combination :/
JamPotStudios Posted August 26, 2015 Posted August 26, 2015 (edited) Hi all. I produce and was recently contacted by this guy over YouTube, with an offer to send me a bunch of bootleg minifigures free of charge in exchange for essentially advertising his website. A lot of them seem decent, and I'd quite like a Silver Surfer or some TMNT, plus he says he might be getting more variety in soon. I've done a bit of internet stalking and the kid is who he says he is as far as I can tell, but I still have a lot of reservations, aside from the obvious one of not being sure whether I want to advertise for someone. If you look at the minifigure bases you can see the Shen Yuan logo. I've bought some of them before, Galactus and an Odin, but when I asked him if he was just a reseller, he flatly refuted that and said he had his own manufacturer, which is a bit disingenuous. My main issue is that my YouTube channel is one that I know LEGO have seen at some point and may return to, as I was selected for the LEGO Scooby-Doo Mystery Builder Campaign back in June. Basically, I don't know if I want to frequently display illegal bootlegs on my channel if it might hurt my chances of getting in contact with LEGO again; the Scooby-Doo thing was a and I don't want to jeopardise that potential relationship with TLG. That probably sounds silly but in my head it feels like quite a big concern. Does TLG have an official stance on these bootlegs? And the fan community?Does anyone have any advice? I'm really torn. Most of my gut tells me no, but I really need a second (or third or fourth) opinion before I can come to a decision. Edited August 26, 2015 by JamPotStudios
Borex Posted August 26, 2015 Posted August 26, 2015 @jampot If your guts tell you 'no', then you probably shouldnt' do it. I think a connection with Lego is far more valuable than a connection withsomeone who buys some bootlegs for you, plus the Lego fan community (a lot of them) despise bootleg material, so that also might not be really good advertising for yourself. We like bootlegs though (at least most of us in this thread). In the end you have to ask yourself; did you need him before? If the answer is no, than you don't need him now too.
