I am so excited for that. I hope they're right. I'm going to go look up how many feet a meter is because I'm a stupid American who doesn't use the metric system...

~39"  Roughly a yard (3 feet)

Yep, the Saturn V is why I am saving VIP points.  I anxiously await the release date and the price in order to be prepared.  Not only will it be the tallest Ideas set, but it is safe to say it will also be the priciest.   Death Star can wait, but this, not so much.

I have zero interest in the Caterham, Adventure Time or Yellow Submarine sets but the Saturn 5 is right near the top of my wishlist.

Well, I have zero interest in Caterham or Adventure Time, but I'm interested in the Beatles figures and the Saturn 5 is right near the top of my wishlist.

This one

I noticed it had like 10-15 less supporters than before

Interesting that the supporters have dropped.

It's definitely too big to pass review.  In my opinion, this is a gorgeous build, but does not belong on Ideas.

So the Fishing Store it is!  This is certainly a surprise, but a good one.  It is a true original, and we finally get a structure!  If I have any money left over from Saturn V, this will  get some consideration for purchasing.

I think it's the likeliest project in the batch.

Agreed. It just hits all the right notes. A clean yet distinct design. A nice seasonal theme without licensed IP. Gives them some use for their CMF specialty molds, and is about the same size as a mid level Creator set.

Well, that just goes to show what we know. I thought the Gingerbread House was easily the likeliest project from the batch, and the Fossil Museum and Johnny 5 were the next likeliest, but not one of those three made it. Yet the Old Fishing Store, a project I found absolutely beautiful but probably just too big, was the one and only project chosen. I must say I'm a bit disappointed other (additional) projects didn't make it, but the Old Fishing Store making it is a delightful shock.

This is really an awesome surprise! Now we just have to wait and see what the lego designers come up with. Hopefully it will be close to the original project, because it is just beautiful.

I just saw the result. I'm quite happy with the fishing store, which is a just lovely looking build   Also I don't feel particularily sad for the licensed themed ones that didn't make it. Its not like these IPs aren't widely represented already

It is also quite possible that we see a gingerbread house as christmas set anyway, without the ideas badge on it, since TLG are releasing seasonal sets anyway.

A pity for the train station though. I is really cool.

Color me shocked and apprehensive. Who knows what TLG will make of the approved idea? Could be unchanged, could be standard-size Modular, could be just a 3/4 building, could be a wall with boat...

Also... Tough luck for Jason, though I'll be honest, the appeal of the Particle Accelerator would rapidly thin, methinks.

At this point, I think it's save to say that no Star Wars set is ever going to pass the Review stage. I think BB-8 would have been the safest bet of the batch: based of a character that is already famous beyond the SW fanbase; having an adorable function and a moderate parts count; not really fitting in with the scale of the other sets of the line... Such a shame! :sceptic:

The choice for the Fishing Store was a great and pleasant surprise, though. :classic:
