Lord Tyrus Posted April 18, 2014 Posted April 18, 2014 Great build, I like those specialised Stormtrooper weapons! Quote
TWP Posted April 18, 2014 Posted April 18, 2014 Nice & clean build LegoSpy! the design in first picture looks really good, precisely as it should look. the weapons rack looks a bit too busy for my taste though. Also I'm not to fond of those bricks with groove, but that's just a minor point. Quote
Rogue Angel Posted April 18, 2014 Posted April 18, 2014 Very succinct and clean build. I really like the Imperial style you've portrayed. The use of the pulley in the wall controls is brilliant! Best job! Quote
LucasLaughing Posted April 19, 2014 Posted April 19, 2014 Well done, sir! I also like the greebling, although I agree that the weapons storage looks a bit "messy." The lava behind the window is a really nice touch! Quote
BEAVeR Posted April 21, 2014 Posted April 21, 2014 Sweet and smooth little build! It already starts with the overhanging base. Perfectly executed, and a nice touch that sets you entry apart. Somehow, I like the floor as well with all the different tile patterns... The patterns created by those groove bricks are nice too, but i have the feeling something more typically Imperial would have been nice, like those vertical white stripes. Maybe go crazy and make horizontal ones . But on to the beef of the build. Your fig posing is nice as always. The first picture really is full of suspense, although it would have been better to take the picture with less light. Especially with the white, now it even has a little bit of a Hoth feeling. not exactly what we wanted... Back to the build: that canon is nice, but I always take pain in seeing severed minifig arms... also, making the gun some longer would've made it look heavier and woud've hidden the squarishness of it more. The fence to the armory is pretty nice, although I don't see why that woudl'nt be a ray shield. For the rest, the details are very well, and the clutteredness doesn't bother me at all. You want to have as much weapons as possible in your armory, right? Maybe placing the guns more on trooper height, and not just above the floor would make it more realistic. Or adding some detonator crates under it. Or placing the guns vertical... enough parameters to play with if you're not happy. But I think you're happy, because this is pretty good. I like how clean you topped everything off with that border. And those wall decorations with the slopes are just right. Keep it up! Quote
Lego Spy Posted April 21, 2014 Author Posted April 21, 2014 (edited) I like it a lot, great build! Thanks! Great build, I like those specialised Stormtrooper weapons! Thanks again! Nice & clean build LegoSpy! the design in first picture looks really good, precisely as it should look. the weapons rack looks a bit too busy for my taste though. Also I'm not to fond of those bricks with groove, but that's just a minor point. Thanks! As for the weapon rack, I'm starting to agree. It looks somewhat bulky, and maybe a bit too large for the room. The reason I added the groove bricks was to give it more texture. If I hadn't, I think it would have looked too clean. Nice clean little vig...good work Thanks x3! Very succinct and clean build. I really like the Imperial style you've portrayed. The use of the pulley in the wall controls is brilliant! Best job! Best job!? Wow, thank you very much! ( ) Well done, sir! I also like the greebling, although I agree that the weapons storage looks a bit "messy." The lava behind the window is a really nice touch! Thanks! I actually had to do some trick photography with the lava, because I ran out of the right 1x1 plates. 30,000 pieces really isn't enough. Sweet and smooth little build! Paragraph One ( ): Yep, next time I'll try incorporating the white line... things. What are they actually? And yes, agreed on the brightness, though if it had been too dark, it wouldn't have been a good picture. Paragraph Two: Well, the arms aren't necessarily "severed", they can be put back on at any time. I actually had a longer barrel originally, but realized that it would have been a bit too long to realistically fit in the hallway, though I see your point. Darn it! I completely forgot until I read your comment this morning. I actually had intended to put some ammunition crates in, but I forgot. And thanks again! I'll definitely be around for the next episode. VK-318 Posted April 22, 2014 Posted April 22, 2014 Those white stripes are light fixtures, as far as I can tell. There are no overhead fixtures in any Imperial facility I've ever seen in the movies or elsewhere, and those stripes do glow. Quote
Rogue Angel Posted April 22, 2014 Posted April 22, 2014 I hate to be contrary again, but The Endor landing pad has overhead lights. Quote
Ninja Nin Posted April 22, 2014 Posted April 22, 2014 Great build ! I like your wall design and slope pieces in the corridor. Sometimes I think wall building could be a bit plain, but yours does not. Cute design of the weapons too.... although they look like prototypes Quote
