Greetings.

Our LUG was invited to Star Wars Days at the local LEGO Discovery Center. I built a Star Wars Imperial Troop Train for the event. It was inspired by amoured trains of the previous century. My MOC is armed with turbolasers and missiles and blasters.

Here is a video of the train running at the event. The place was very kid noisy.

Have been thinking of an armoured train for some time, but never had the exact idea of what I wanted to make. A very nice and character driven train though, very Star Wars'ish. Perhaps it could do with a passenger wagon or two just for tranporting troops and nothing else?

No problem to borrow and improve. :classic:

I may have made my Star Wars troop train too kid playable. The kids at the LDC kept wanting to touch and play with it. I lost a snow trooper. He may have been KID-napped. Probably should have enclosed the wagons.

Great use of tiles! I've never thought about making a Star Wars-themed train! Hmm, now that I think about it I've never even seen a train themed before. :P

Make it an aircraft a spacecraft carrier and add a car with three of the smaller tie fighters.

That is an idea to extend the train. :classic: Hmm, how to make 6 wide tie fighers?

Thanks. My LUG was invited to display at Star Wars days at the LEGOLAND Discovery Center and I like trains. I had a crazy thought to combine the two for the event.

Not to be a bad influence on you or anything, but here's a thought, and another, and another, and another, and another, and with a little digging you can get to the minifig scale one in this set too. I'm sure the instructions are available at lego customer service and you'd have to do some modifications though.
