PeterPNL Posted April 15, 2014 Posted April 15, 2014 I love this yellow cargo train, but I was wondering what real life train it is based on. Anyone an idea? Quote
andythenorth Posted April 15, 2014 Posted April 15, 2014 Colours look inspired by Dutch railways, I would guess the loco is invented to suit available parts. http://www.spoorwegmaterieel.nl/Treinen-1277.jpg Quote
Murdoch17 Posted April 15, 2014 Posted April 15, 2014 (edited) I have my suspicions, as it could be this one: British Rail class 60 with a pantrograph added to make it electric: OR it could be British Rail class 92, which has a pantrograph and is bodyshape very similiar to the class 60: Otrher than that, I don't know! woofmcmoose Posted April 15, 2014 Posted April 15, 2014 Perhaps, something more European: http://de.wikipedia..../RhB_Ge_4/4_III or: http://nl.wikipedia....wiki/SBB_Re_482 maybe with a hint of Japanese: http://en.wikipedia....ght_Class_EH200 Quote
Duq Posted April 15, 2014 Posted April 15, 2014 Colours look inspired by Dutch railways, I would guess the loco is invented to suit available parts. http://www.spoorwegm...reinen-1277.jpg Even the youngest in that lineup is from 1969. I don't think that 7939 is based on a real-life prototype and definitely not a Dutch one. Quote
