le60head Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 (edited) Hello everyone! I recently decided on building the awesome Elephant robot from the 45560 Education Expansion Set. I found the building instructions uploaded. Naturally, now comes the question whether the program for this robot is available for free download? I suppose the program is included in the EV3 Education Programming Software, which need to be purchased. ( Unlike the Home Edition) If you know whether it is available for download somewhere, please let me know. I would much appreciate any information on this topic. Thank you in advance! -------- Here's the link for the building instructions. http://robotsquare.c...0-instructions/ p.s. Seems like I've misspelled the P.S. Seems like i've miss-spelled "EDUCATION" in the title of this topic. Sorry about that :/ Edited March 31, 2014 by le60head Quote
weavil Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 (edited) Could not tell that site had instructions only. Was looking it up on my phone earlier. Edited April 1, 2014 by weavil Quote
Jim Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 Naturally, now comes the question whether the program for this robot is available for free download? P.S. Seems like i've miss-spelled "EDUCATION" in the title of this topic. Sorry about that :/ Corrected the title! The program isn't available for download, only the instructions. But looking at the model it shouldn't be too difficult to create the program, right? Quote
le60head Posted April 1, 2014 Author Posted April 1, 2014 (edited) Right. One thing i would be missing would be the sounds for the program - the one the elephant makes when raising his head. And Jim, thanks for correcting the tittle! Edited May 30, 2020 by le60head Quote
le60head Posted April 2, 2014 Author Posted April 2, 2014 My bad! The sound for the Elephant is included in the EV3 Retail software as well. Look for "Elephant call" under Animals Quote
DrJB Posted April 2, 2014 Posted April 2, 2014 While it's true that the EDU programs are not available for free ... there is an alternative to the GyroBoy ... Search on the legofirst website. Quote
Zmei_gorini4 Posted April 2, 2014 Posted April 2, 2014 (edited) Hi, le60head. The program for the elephant is no big deal. I made that elephant based on NXT. If you need, I can share the program. Thank you. Edited April 2, 2014 by Zmei_gorini4 Quote
le60head Posted April 2, 2014 Author Posted April 2, 2014 Already figured it out myself. Thanks anyway :) Quote
bpugh Posted December 30, 2014 Posted December 30, 2014 I'm still confused. I have two, 7 and one year old boys who have built several robots, including Gyro Boy and Mindcubr, but they don't know how to program. They'd love to build the elephant, but can't. Does anyone have a program for it that they might use? Thanks very much! Quote
DrJB Posted December 30, 2014 Posted December 30, 2014 I'm still confused ... including Gyro Boy ... GyroBoy Variant. I tried it and it works great, will need some tuning based on surface you put it on. http://forums.usfirst.org/showthread.php?20729-Gyro-Boy-Program Quote
Danek Posted November 30, 2015 Posted November 30, 2015 Can somebody share the program for the elephant? Thanks, Danek Quote
hansschl Posted December 21, 2015 Posted December 21, 2015 If I had access to the programs for Elephant, Stair Climber, etc, I would re-implement them using LeJOS Java and give this back to the community. Promise! I am sure this would even increase Lego sales of the 45560 expansion set ;-) Quote
