Toby Adams Posted March 27, 2014 Posted March 27, 2014 Hey guys, I have decied to make this topic purley so I could get my views in and some points that may leave you wondering. So.. Homer Simpson: he's a great figure and like all he could be used in a theme park. His torso\legs are really reusable for City and the printed Donught\Remote peices can be used anywhere. Bart Simpson: He too is great for a theme park and this is the second time I have expresed it. The skateboard could be used for a skatepark and it is ultra customizable if you have more skateboards(#TMNT). His legs\torso assembly parts are ultra re-useable too. Marge Simpson: This figure is a bit less reuseable. The torso\legs are reuseable but the head is a no-no. She could make the themepark(Last-time I express) and the 'Donught Fancy' tile is reuseble. The purse will be popular among Friends fans too. Lisa Simpson: The torso\legs\skirt are reuseable and the saxophone could be used for a 'Blue's Brothers' Moc. Maggie Simpson: The torso is reuseable and the 'Wrecked' teddy is so reuseable, so I'll be using that in my Sig-Fig soon! Grampa Simpson: The torso legs are re-useable and the 'Old man yells at a cloud' title is sure to be popular. Ned Flanders: The torso\legs can be reused and the cup can too. The toolbox can't though with that printing . Krusty the Clown: The legs\torso can be reused and the pie can too. Millhouse Van Houten: The head and legs can be reused and the tile can be too with 'BICLOPS'. Raph Wiggum: The legs torso might be limeted but can be reused. The tile will be popular too. Apu Nahasapeemapetilon: This one is limeted. The cup isn't but the figure has two options(See homer,Bart or Marge) and a shopkeeper if you don't mind fleshies in your city. Nelson Muntz: This one is a bit limeted, but the bat is good to use. Itchy: This one is solely for I&S Brickfilms. Scratchy: This one may be limeted but the tail is good. Chief Wiggum: This one could be used parts wise and for a Police Department. Presenting Mr. Burns: This could be used for filming (Like all) and as someone mentioned, a suit for Riddler. Thank you for reading through and make sure to post your ideas! Quote
Oky Posted March 27, 2014 Posted March 27, 2014 So basically what you're saying is that the Simpsons figs can be used for Simpsons related stuff and that almost everything except the specialized heads can be reused for other themes? Isn't that kind of obvious? Sorry, but unless you're going to give specific examples of how to reuse these parts, I don't see the point of this topic. Quote

Isn't that kind of obvious? Sorry, but unless you're going to give specific examples of how to reuse these parts, I don't see the point of this topic. I can't be sure, but this may be a direct result to some of the more dissatisfied forum users who seem to have come into the simpsons thread to say how much they dislike the new line of figures, mostly because they aren't interested in the heads, and a lack of re-usable parts for their other MOCs etc. Quote
rriggs Posted March 27, 2014 Posted March 27, 2014 Bam! And a heavy handed moderator once again jumps on a perfectly reasonable new topic with an immediate telling off. The points made are valid - especially for those who don't want to trawl through pages and pages of pro/anti Simpsons rhetoric elsewhere in the forum. I agree with each of the points and can see value in reusing the body parts and accessories in city/town scenes and models. They are no more unusable than (for example) the clockwork robots, zombies, etc in the other collectable minifig ranges. Cheers Rog Quote
HomerJSimpson Posted March 27, 2014 Posted March 27, 2014 Nice list. I think I'll get two extra wiggums, and use the bodies for custom a Eddie and Lou. Also, how did you get that picture of wig gum as your avatar-thingy? (I forgot what it's called) I tried upswing krusty for me, since he's my favorite, but it wouldn't let me. Quote
just2good Posted March 27, 2014 Posted March 27, 2014 (edited) Bam! And a heavy handed moderator once again jumps on a perfectly reasonable new topic with an immediate telling off. Oky isn't a moderator whatsoever... Of course, non printed minifigure parts like Ned and Homer's legs can be used in nearly any setting that minifigures can be used in. Repeter Posted March 27, 2014 Posted March 27, 2014 All LEGO minifigs are usable to the customizers...I agree with Oky about this thread being somewhat pointless. No offense to anyone, especially the OP...but obvious is obvious. Quote
Oky Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 Sorry if my comment came across as mini-modding. I was just trying to understand what the point was in creating yet another thread about the debate over the reusability of the Simpsons figs when clearly you can reuse most of the parts in almost any theme as long as you get a little creative. WhiteFang's excellent minifig mash-ups in his review are proof of that. I mean no offense to anyone. To add something meaningful to this topic, here are two ideas off the top of my head: Add Millhouse as one of the Master Builders in Cloud Cuckoo Palace. Mr. Burns' suit with The Lone Ranger's head and Riddler's green hat would make a nice purist Green Hornet. The mask would be the wrong color, but the irony of using Lone Ranger's head for Green Hornet would be too perfect to pass up. Plus it's the only masked head that doesn't have the stylized white eyes. Quote
jodawill Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 Homer Simpson's head could be used for other Homer Simpson minifigures. /s Quote
rriggs Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 Sorry if my comment came across as mini-modding. It did a bit... I like the phrase mini-modding BTW Oky isn't a moderator whatsoever... Fair point. I saw the badges and assumed. He is a self-confessed mini-mod though... Cheers Rog Quote
Yooha Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 They could be used with a normal minifig head and the Simpsons head holding in their hands as mascots taking off the custume (works best with the sweating CMF 3 Gorilla suit guy head). Quote
CorneliusMurdock Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 Bam! And a heavy handed moderator once again jumps on a perfectly reasonable new topic with an immediate telling off. Please stop with this kind of behavior. It's not helpful to anyone. And Oky, you know where the report button is. Since this thread is specifically about sharing ideas reusing parts from the Simpsons figures, I think it has enough merit to stay open. I think the short sleeves and new short legs are infinitely reusable in town settings. I'm also really looking forward to representing my youngest daughter in minifig form using Maggie's torso. Quote
tedbeard Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 It's kinda funny but I was hoping the Simpsons heads would be bigger because in my layouts the only use I would have for these figures is characters in a parade or, like above, a theme park. For that I would want heads that were a little over-sized to make "mascots". As it is I will probably use them as "Easter eggs" or as part of our clubs regular "Find-a-fig" (aka "Where's Waldo?") setup for kids. Quote

The Jersey Brick Guy Posted March 29, 2014 Posted March 29, 2014 I must admit, I am not a huge Simpsons fans, and their heads really don't do nothing for me with Lego. Now with that being said, I do want the Mr. Burns suit, I am not exactly sure what I'll do with his head, but that suit must be mine. Quote
ReZourceman Posted March 29, 2014 Posted March 29, 2014 Itchy's tail will make a good strap-on. Quote
B Rick Posted March 29, 2014 Posted March 29, 2014 (edited) I'd like to see all of the anti lego-simpsons crowd making an anti-simpson moc/vignette/scenery with these upcomming cmfs... Also, What about a halloween scene with kids dress up as a simpsons character... Edited March 30, 2014 by B Rick Quote
Freddy Bricker Posted March 30, 2014 Posted March 30, 2014 Itchy's tail will make a good strap-on. This. How about using the heads as shrunken heads? It's a little ironic, but the best use I got for them. Other than that, the short sleeves will be very useful in a city setting. Quote
Cult_Of_Skaro Posted March 30, 2014 Posted March 30, 2014 Itchy's tail will make a good strap-on. I'm gonna give you full credit for originality... Quote
Godtshep Posted April 12, 2014 Posted April 12, 2014 I think the bully's torso would be good for Dennis Carradine from Spider-Man. Quote
Dharkan Posted April 18, 2014 Posted April 18, 2014 Homer Simpson's head could be used for other Homer Simpson minifigures. /s creativeness overload here Quote
