Norro Posted May 10, 2007 Posted May 10, 2007 Hey all: And this is my latest MOC, Mark's Pad: (click and come in...) A nice place to chill with a Wide Screen TV, Loft Bed, Ultra Modern Fish Tank, and Quasi Trendy Futuristic Coffee Table... Enjoy! God Bless, Nathan BTW I am still working on the second installment of my MOCtale, but it is my first ever Bricklink dependent MOC and a few pieces are proving stubbornly hard to come by... at an appropriate price for an Irishman... WesternOutlaw Posted May 10, 2007 Posted May 10, 2007 Awesome! I want a pad like Mark's *wub* . Just look at that stereo system! Too cool. You forgot one thing Norro, a lava lamp ;-) . Quote
Starwars4J Posted May 10, 2007 Posted May 10, 2007 now THIS is a true thing of beauty *wub* Every little corner has detail packed in to the brim! I love that chair, I do wish it was on wheeles though :-P Now I just wonder what kind of castle this will go in to...:-D Quote
Asuka Posted May 10, 2007 Posted May 10, 2007 What a beautiful furniture design, especially that couch and the bed. Wonderful color scheme, great work! *y* Quote
Shine Posted May 11, 2007 Posted May 11, 2007 bed Very nice. The lower desk is beautiful, though it could be brought out by a stud, making some of the small details easier to see. The pillow on the upper portion looks in desperate need of fluffing, try some curved slope bricks. Two of these, back-to-back would work well. chair Not liking this so much, seems very out of scale with itself. Why not swap the red 2x1 Technic barrels for 1x1 System ones? The pointy roof piece at the top fits nicely with the other sharp angles on the seat, though it looks likely to punch a hole in the occupant's head. Try raising it 2/3 of a stud with two red 1x2 plates. floor Love the rug and the lack of 2x2 tiles in the wood floor. couch Nice lime. *sweet* The things that stick off the sides both intrigue and confuse me, what are they? The backrest should be two studs wider, as to match the seat. I'd also like to see another set of lime car hoods on the upper part of the backrest. side table *shrug* Oddly shaped, but whatever. tentacle light Cool, very simple, yet effective, not sure what's with the base of it though. teal table Probably my least favorite part, it doesn't look like you could set something on it without it sliding to the center. I'd completely restart on it, maybe in a different color if you lack any other teal. speakers Simple, realistic, perfect. TV I'm having trouble figuring out what the wheel wells are supposed to be. It also looks as if the teal table blocks any view obtainable of it from the couch, maybe build a table for it to sit on? small bookcase The trans-blue thing on top of it puzzles me, what is it? The bookcase itself is nice, I haven't seen good storage-room in a small piece of furniture like this is a long time. Next, build walls with lots of interesting posters for it. X-D Quote
zero1312 Posted May 11, 2007 Posted May 11, 2007 Right now I wish to be a minfig. :-D :-D Great work Norro!!! *y* Quote
Norro Posted May 11, 2007 Author Posted May 11, 2007 Thanks all! Your comments are much appreciated as I'm so new to this scale. Just to clarify the 'trans blue thing' is a fish tank. See my first post... God Bless, Nathan Quote
Sir Dillon Posted May 11, 2007 Posted May 11, 2007 Very nice Norro! The details are great. I think my favorite parts are the stereo and the bed. I also really like all the different colors. The only thing I don't really like is the chair. Like Shine said, it seems a bit out of proportion. I also like your watermark thing. ;-) Quote
Norro Posted May 11, 2007 Author Posted May 11, 2007 I also like your watermark thing. ;-) Thanks! I'm trying to learn to use a computer (as more than just a giant browser ;-) ) so I'm glad you liked it! God Bless, Nathan Quote
Brick Miner Posted May 12, 2007 Posted May 12, 2007 ya, your "digital signature" is fantastic !!! it seems your PS skills have really growing... the last thing i recall seeing was your adventurers signature. one thing i like about your work is that it is really professional... even if the building style or subject matter is not my thing... i have to give you props for professionalism and presentation. as for the MOC, i like everything (though as i said, this type of building style is not my thing ;-) ) except the center table is a strange shape/construction. overall, its fun to look at, and really, that is the bottom line when it comes to LEGO. *y* - Brick Miner Quote
