If you had only one set of tires, would you prefer Unimog tires, from 8110, or ballon tires from the 9398 crawler? These would be used in a wide range of MOCs, including trucks, crawlers, fast cars, so looking for best flexibility.

Wheels from 8858. I've used them on my test car (instructions to come soon) with the M motor and a diff and they a re proving to be very good with obstacles and good grip. The are one of my favourite wheels.

Perhaps the balloon tires, their little surface on flat surfaces means less grip like on a dragster and maybe faster steering and more grip on off road settings, also suspension ravel wont need to be so big since balloon tires will have a better surface area when the wheel is on an angle (compresses suspension)

I agree with Efferman, 8110 all the way. In fact I like them so much I am considering buying 4 more. The 9398 tires are good, but there is not as many suitable applications to use them in a realistic way.

Of the two you mentioned, I too would go for the ones from 8110.

Otherwise, I agree with Horace T and JM1971. IMO those are way more versatile, and work on a wider range of models.

I like the tyres/wheels from 9397 etc that JM1971 has highlighted. They are a good all rounder and I have used them on my test car. I would like to see them with wider tyres at some point.

I agree with JM1971 too, the Tyres/wheels from 9397, 8258 whatever are the most used tyres for my projects, and I have a big stock of it that I'll never miss.

Thanks for all of the comments, guys. Certainly tires from 9397 are great, I'll be using them as appropriate as scale demands. I'm going to go with 8110 tires for larger MOC's and with the portal axle/hubs, I might be able to get a good deal on a new 8810 set or two,,,
