Following my visit to the park last weekend to renew my annual pass I decided to snap some pictures of the progress of the new Viking Themed area of the park. As you can see from the pictures, Legoland appear to have employeed the same team of builders used on the New Wembley Stadium. Who knows if it will ever be finished for this season? In all fairness they were working on Saturday!

I notice the hedge maze does not appear to have changed much from the old hedge maze. A few new bushes, a lick of paint and a new sign I guess?

A couple of random facts about the ride:

* It will take 150 hours to fill the ride with water

* More than 60 Viking themed models on display, made from 2 million bricks

* The ride features a troll wash, when buckets of water are tipped from a 4 meter height

* 1300 people per hour will use the ride

* Park capacity will increase by 15% (unfortunately the queue out of the car park on a busy day will also increase by 15%)

*The flume is 400meters long

* There will be a dragon made of 189420 bricks with a 6 meter wingspan towering over the ride

* The Viking theme was chosen through research and collaboration with Legoland Windsor guests (Strange, as a annual pass holder for the last 3 years I was not consulted)?

Please enjoy my couple of pictures, you should be able to see the layout of the new Viking water ride on the second picture. Can't wait to see it finished.

Looks like a version of the billund pirate ride (also based on an obsolete theme?) Thanks so much for the pics, really appreciated!

God Bless,
