cpt.cool Posted May 4, 2007 Posted May 4, 2007 hello guys, just a long time reader, first time poster. I created a little folder here. let me know what you think. Quote
Eurobricks Emperor Bonaparte Posted May 4, 2007 Eurobricks Emperor Posted May 4, 2007 Welcome cpt.cool! You've made a very original MOC. Showing the surface and bottom of the sea in 1 MOC is not easy to do. We see these hidden treasures of the sea while the minifigs in the rowboat are not aware of what lies beneath their feet. I love the concept! I took the liberty to put an image in your first post. Quote
Athos Posted May 4, 2007 Posted May 4, 2007 Looks very good. An interesting way to go about showing the two layers. I wonder if trans-blue would be more effective than solid blue? I'm not sure if the foilage fits with the underwater scene, but I imagine you used what you had available. Some of the new aquaraiders stuff would look good down there. Steve Quote
oo7 Posted May 4, 2007 Posted May 4, 2007 Welcome, how nice it is of you to introduce yourself with such a lovely diorama. *y* I would like to know it there is any reasoning behind the jagged edges of the cut out, or was that just the way it turned out given the available bricks? It also does look like the ship parts were just "thrown togther", is this the case, or are they secured to the baseplate? Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted May 4, 2007 Governor Posted May 4, 2007 Greetings Cpt.Cool! Its quite interesting how you've also "built" the water around this submerged wreck and I don't think I've seen a MOC incorporate the fathoms around it. Although it does remind me of a recent vignette by Athos where he depicts Moses departing the ocean. By the way... You can post images as large as 800x600 if you feel the need for something bigger. Governor Mister Phes Posted May 7, 2007 Governor Posted May 7, 2007 Its interested how he's suspended the sharks by having the sharks onto the transparent blue antennas. But upon closer inspection they're not actually atennas - are they? Quote

El Bucanero Posted May 7, 2007 Posted May 7, 2007 That's a nice MOC Capt Cool.! There's alot of details I see. Although, If I may be so nitpicky, how come the mast is still standing? The shroud is not really a good support, is it? X-D Well, nevermind, me and my creativity wouldn't be able to build this... Welcome to the forum BTW! :capn: Mr Tiber Quote
Capn Frank Posted May 7, 2007 Posted May 7, 2007 What a cool and original MOC Captain of Cool X-D Very creative. Do you have a pic of the ship before it sank? P Quote

Mr Tiber said.......Although, If I may be so nitpicky, how come the mast is still standing? The shroud is not really a good support, is it? - actually it wasnt supposed to look like it was holding it up, but i guess it sure looks that way :-/ , it is actually leaning firm by a hinge under the mast. i did this to give it more of a "wreckage" look. phred said......Do you have a pic of the ship before it sank? no but you can see it sinking here. well i made it first, so the details are the same but you get the picture X-D Mister Phes said.......Given that the sharks have a small stud on their underside would it be possible to connect a shark to these from beneth, rather than having them bite on to the rod? - actually it is connected to the bottom, there are a few pictures were you can see that. thank-you to everyone who took the time to ask questions and leave comments. It was alot of fun to build, and I suggest somebody with more talent take a stab at it( no pun intended) and do the idea more justice. *sweet* Quote

Governor Mister Phes Posted May 11, 2007 Governor Posted May 11, 2007 Is that what inspired Mr Athos or is it just coincidence? Quote
Norro Posted May 11, 2007 Posted May 11, 2007 I like it! The hats stretch the probability a little, but all in all still a very nice MOC. Good work! God Bless, Nathan Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted May 11, 2007 Governor Posted May 11, 2007 The mini-fogures in the dingy could be modern day, but they're drifting above a pirate ship sunk 300 years ago so it seems justifiable to me Quote
