Lord David Posted May 4, 2007 Posted May 4, 2007 Probably an old topic, I dunno, but does anyone here do any Photoshopping? (Both professionally and for fun) Just wondering (and bored too! ;-) ) Just a thought, post your's here and possible photoshoppped images you have done! :-) Quote

(Both professionally and for fun) Just wondering (and bored too! ;-) ) Just a thought, post your's here and possible photoshoppped images you have done! :-) I've got a whole website full of Photoshopped Lego pictures. All the stuff we do for our Lego comic is done in Photoshop -- page layouts, word balloons, special effects, etc. Technically, we're using Photoshop Elements, which is the stripped down, consumer version. But it's more than adequate for what we need. It's an amazing program. -Joebot Quote

Great comics! :-) Yep, Photoshop Elements is commonly (though don't quote me on this! ;-) ) supplied for scanners, designed for the simple Photoshop enthusiast and for the basic Photoshop experience. I haven't used it as such (I use Photoshop CS 2 currently), you'll need to get a proper version of Photoshop for Photoshopped images. Quote

Brick Miner Posted May 4, 2007 Posted May 4, 2007 not sure what kinda of discussion we are looking for here... but if anyone has photoshop questions, i could be some help... i usually spend a couple hours out of my day in the program... though i spend more time in adobe illustrator. in my professional career, i usually only use photoshop to color my line art... while i use adobe illustrator to draw. however, for LEGOs i use photoshop for all my MOC images... gunslingers saloon ghost town's haunted pass stagecoach hold-up as for the graphics here on eurobricks,... i mainly used illustrator, with a little photoshop in the banners (but a lot of illustrator). while i like photoshop a bunch, it ales in comparison to illustrator ;-) however, the two aren't really comparable, as each has a specific purpose in creating digital images... its just i love to use illustrator. as for the AFOL hobby, i love presentation, and would love to see more MOCs finished with some photoshop backgrounds/settings, etc. - Brick Miner Quote
snefroe Posted May 4, 2007 Posted May 4, 2007 as for the AFOL hobby, i love presentation, and would love to see more MOCs finished with some photoshop backgrounds/settings, etc. - Brick Miner i'd love to do that with mocs of mine, however, i've never been able to cut my model out of its original frame into another background without having to spend lots and lots of time and even then it never really looked good, and i always got the feeling that the moc was simply put on another layer underneath the moc instead of having one layer that integrates both background and model. i don't have any problem like that in corel draw, but the photoshop thing i never really did master... Scouty Posted May 4, 2007 Posted May 4, 2007 I use Photoshop for all my Picture editing. But one verygood thing I like about it is what I can do with it in my videos. I can add lot's of effects. So, I'm a happy PS user :-) . Quote
Brainbox Posted May 4, 2007 Posted May 4, 2007 in my professional career, i usually only use photoshop to color my line art... while i use adobe illustrator to draw. :-D Great! Especially Sandman and Kingpin. Quote

Brick Miner Posted May 4, 2007 Posted May 4, 2007 I can deffinately notice a pattern. One eye is smaller than the other :-D . Very good artwork. :-D :-D :-D what your talking about is my 3/4 template ;-)im not as happy with my profile and headshots, so i use the 3/4 the most... and it looks like that is all the appears here. good observation !!! - BrickMiner Quote
alex54 Posted May 5, 2007 Posted May 5, 2007 Nice work Brick Miner! Those Spiderman draws remind me of the new Batman cartoon style. It's not serious and realistic (Take it in the good way) draw, but I like it, it's modern and I like the fact that a hero can have different "style", unlike Link in wind waker and in Twiligt Princess... (My favorite is WW...) For Photoshop, I use it a little. I have learned how to use it when I had my websites by myself, whith some tuto on the web. Not easy at the beginning, but with the time, it appears to be a very good software. Using it for mocs will take me a lot of time, so I don't use it... Maybe I will use it just for the presentation pics of my mocs... But it's not always easy to find some nice backgrounds... Quote

Brick Miner Posted May 8, 2007 Posted May 8, 2007 well can't you give us a quick tutorial or something? just a few steps that would show the way?jipay posted an custom avatar tutorial in the pirate forum... that is pretty much the same tutorial i would make.the only thing not covered is making custom backgrounds that match LEGO box art, in which a complete PS and AI users guide would be my tutorial :-D ;-) no seriously, each background would be so different that a unique tutorial would be needed for each one !!! different techniques would be applied, etc... in fact, it's something that i wouldn't even know how to put into a tutorial, because i wouldn't know how to do it myself, until i had done it. make sense ??? for example, different processes were used to create the "Royal Knights" background of the History & Adventure Forum banner, that were used to my the "World City" look of the Train & Town Forum banner. i didn't know what i was going to do when i started out, i just had to experiment with a couple different things ;-) NOTE: The Brickster uses non-LEGO box art for his digital backgrounds... you could make something like that with only jipay's tutuorial. - BrickMiner Quote
