Afternoon Everyone,

This is my first post on eurobricks so be gentle with me !!!!

Probably aimed at any other AFOL's from the UK but has anyone ever looked into insuring there collections ?

My dad is always going on at me to mention it to my insurers when I renew my policy, but I am never sure whether it's relervant or not. I know you can probably get specialist cover from somewhere just wondered if anyone had ever done it or had any thoughts on it.

Cheers.

Welcome to the friendly EB community.

I am in Canada, so this may not apply to you.

If you are a homeowner, and have insurance for contents, usually it is covered. You would want to take photos and even better catalog the collection with estimated values to avoid hassles in case of a claim, but that's very tedious. I was told that up to about $30,000 I don't need special extra insurance.

If you have a truly valuable collection, you need a special rider written into your insurance. Special riders for collections tend to be very expensive.

I have worried about this myself, but I came to realize that at this point in my life, if my collection was destroyed in a fire or flood I would probably just give up on Lego collecting. It would be just too hard to regather the collection.
