neonic Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 I thought let me show me my creation. And let's find out what you think of it. My sister was during the christmas with us and her little girl, and she thought it would be nice to put some lego sets together, so my nice can play with is when she's a bit older. So we get the lego of the addict, and she started to make some sets. Only a few parts weren't there because they put in my 'creation'. Not such a problem, but just a big white plate she needed wich was the floor of my cabin. First I didn't wanted to ruin my car so I said, no problem, I just get some other part from the internet. And a few parts to complete some other sets. (most of them are in my car too , so, to build the police and fire station will be a bit of a problem too) So, I get the missing plate of my truck and the whole cabine was .....pfff Here's is one of the old foto's I've found on my computer. To see the date the photo's are taken, It seems to be, that the truck is already 10 years old. the Oldest photo was from 2003 Here are some foto's I took after the christmas holidays. So you see the missing cabine and put some lego figure with it like he's looking :wtf, where's the cabin go. And here a picture of the resurrection of the cabin. I played a bit with the parts and... put just 2 plates under it as a floor and rebuild it. Here's a picture of the back, with the slide-out, and one of above, with the roof take of to you the interior wich can use some makeover Guess it's pretty good to see it's a pretty old creation, especially some white pieces. Years ago I've got the american rig of model-team. Think you can recognise the striped panels. In the years it changed a bit to eventually to this creation. I made it a little bit wider so the scale is a bit more 'realistic' so far that can be... That's why I put some normally windows in it at the front a bigger one so the driver can see better. Hope you like it. There's more to come because I've got some weird plans for it. Quote
Jim Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 Nice to see the original model is immediately recognizable. And I like the idea of the slide-out PF controlled slide-out section? Quote
Lasse D Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 (edited) This is completely awesome! I did the same trick with my Highway Rig back in 2003! The pictures are from 2007 where I had removed the characteristic blue and red stripes and replaced them with eagles. Underneath it all it is the same good old truck from 1990. I didn't mod the front as much as you and your sister, but I added a trailer: When you opened the panel in the side the room inside was larger than one would think: Why? Because the side slides out just like in your model! QUICK EDIT I just remembered that I did the same mod with dual front wheels on an even earlier version. I liked this so much that I made a black version of the truck: Yay for nostalgia :) Edited February 5, 2014 by Lasse D Quote
neonic Posted February 7, 2014 Author Posted February 7, 2014 (edited) Just a few other pics I took today. Now with the trailer hooked up (it's 'copied' from the model team truck 5590, I ordered the building instruction of it, years ago) First it had only three axles, but I thought it doesn't look that good in combination of the load. But because I had no more wheels left I steel those from the other side And here an old photo on the shelf, collecting dust with his 'heavy load' And also with the 3 xtra axles. - Lasse D, why don't make your own topic of your truck ? Looks good, and I am really curious to see the rest of the truck/trailer. Interior looks intresting too the small I part I can see. Maybe I can 'steal' some ideas for my little renovation Edited February 7, 2014 by neonic Quote
Lasse D Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 - Lasse D, why don't make your own topic of your truck ? Looks good, and I am really curious to see the rest of the truck/trailer. Interior looks intresting too the small I part I can see. Maybe I can 'steal' some ideas for my little renovation My trucks don't exist anymore, so I can't make new pictures or instructions of them. I simply had a nostalgia trip because of this topic. The only pictures I have of them are in these two galleries: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=509179 http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=265785 Quote
neonic Posted February 11, 2014 Author Posted February 11, 2014 The only pictures I have of them are in these two galleries: I've seen the pictures, looks good. Especially like the one with the 'folded' roof, with the carwash, little shop and stuff Looks like MASK haha, great. the Others looks very creative too, like that mod crane. Guess you're a fan of wing-doors the one the crane is cool too, a mix of wing-door and a suicide door. I've made some special 'brackets' to hold the 'special' load. It looks a bit more serious that just 2 slopes at each side Today the second order came had already made some designs with MLcad so .... that truck is gonna get a little bit changed only 'problem' is ... it's gonna get a little bit bigger Quote
