Brick_Sticker Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 Hey all, just joined this forum and wanted to show off a moc. Having just come out of my dark ages, I'm trying to get the hang of building studless things. While in the store the other day with my brother, also a Lego fan, I picked up the 60059 log truck: This is a pretty cool truck (I think), and since I had just picked up 42008 as a parts pack, why not? So I tried to recreate this truck in technic: Since it's technic, the features include -HOG steering -Opening doors and tilting seats/steering wheel -Mini LAs to operate the boom -Boom swings 360 degrees -Simple claw at the end of the boom -Cab tilts forward, although there is nothing to see underneath but the steering rack And since it's a log truck, a backhoe is always nearby, so let's throw in a trailer and a 42004 backhoe: The trailer is nothing special, flip down ramps and pivoting wheels with a simple jackstand. Action shot: Hope you guys enjoy, a few more pics available at brickshelf: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=539606 Brick_Sticker Quote
MrNumbskull13 Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 Cool MOC! I can't wait to see what you create in time to come. :) Quote
TinkerBrick Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 Brilliant. It looks like you put in a xerox machine, and scaled it up by 141%. You hit the color scheme on the spot. Quote
jantjeuh Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 Good job! Looking forward to more of your MOCs! Quote
D3K Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 Very nice! Good job! I like the small things, like the System ribbed hoses used for the front wheel arches! Quote
Technic Gearhead Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 You're off to a great start I would say. I like the crane details and you nailed the color scheme of the other model. Quote
unimog123 Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 You'll fit right in with great models like that! Nicely done. Quote
