SandMirror38 Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 I'm looking into using tranasperant decals and would need to use plain torsos. How would you remove printing? Please say multiple methods as I'm looking into the most cheapest and easiest way -arn't we all? :P- Thanks :) Sand Quote
Robianco Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 I always just use Brasso on the torso and it all comes off pretty easily. Just give it a firm rub and it should all come off no problem. Quote
CardinalBricks Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 Use a sander, but be very careful. That's how I do it. Quote
kibosh Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 In The LEGO Movie, Lord Business uses a q-tip and nail polish remover. Quote
AmperZand Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 There's a tutorial and discussion on this topic already on EB. You can find it here: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=25491 Quote
Floundie Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 An eraser has always worked fine for me. Takes a lot of rubbing but in the end it's probably the easiest option. Quote
Luke_likes_Lego Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 Hi Sand, I know it's none of my business , but is removing printing necessary? Wouldn't it be nicer to get some plain torsos to start with, and then apply your custom transparencies? Prices for a torso are about $0.75-$0.80AUD Wouldn't like to see a printed part rendered irreversible (even if it's one of those airport tops that I seem to have way too many of ). Cheers, LLL Quote
SandMirror38 Posted February 4, 2014 Author Posted February 4, 2014 Haha :P True, just due to a big projeect coming up. I'm trying to set a low budget on minifigure parts - why I'm buying from brickforge with the 50% off- for the project. Though I'll look into it I think the light bley torso may be expensive as I believe it only comees in 1 set :/ @floundie Which rubber do you use? Quote
Dayton Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 (edited) Use a sander, but be very careful. That's how I do it. That damages the minifgure. Brasso just removes the printing and not the surface of the part. Edited February 4, 2014 by Dayton Quote
Floundie Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 Which rubber do you use? I use the Staedtler brand. Pretty much any store that carries office supplies should have them. They look like this: Hope that helps! Quote
