OzBen Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 Here is my version of Doc_Brown's 1932 Ford Hot Rod. I love the hot rod in black and i did build it in Doc's original colour scheme but i really wanted to put my own spin on it so i played around with the parts list in Brickstore to see what colours would be available. I settled on a dark bluish grey chassis with white body and brown (leather ) interior. I also added the light bluish grey window surrounds to break up the all white look and i think it turned out looking pretty good It was a little bit of a challenge building it in white but with a few small substitutions and minor modifications i think the result is great. The instructions were really well presented and clear to follow whist still providing a nice fun challenge. A big to Doc for creating this MOC and making instructions, very well done!!! instructions thread http://www.eurobrick...c=89921&hl=ford instructions available at MOCPLANS http://mocplans.com/...32-hot-rod.html parts list at rebrickable http://rebrickable.c...wn/1932-hot-rod I would really like to see it in red or yellow now.......... legomuppet9 Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 Just stunning... The rims of the wheels add a little extra too Quote
neonic Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 Cool car Nice rims too, looks very good with the car. I should get rid of the hood. Mostly they don't have any and besides ... the engine looks too cool to hide Quote
Rishab N Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 Nice work! the 41999 rims really improve the looks! Quote
750ACE Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 I really like the color combination here. Awesome! Quote
Doc_Brown Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 Fantastic man! Just awesome. The little wheel nuts look great too. I would really like to see it in red or yellow as well. And now with the new off roader in red, people will have the panels to do it! Thanks for sharing, and taking the time to mod it as well. Quote
HorcikDesigns Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 Very, very nice. And I have to apologize to Doc, this color scheme looks better at this rod in some way. On the other hand, Doc's rims were better in my opinion, but at this one I love the white circle from the Boss rims.... So It's very difficult to say which one is better... :D And, somebody could make this rod in ratty version :) Quote
legotechnicyiayia Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 Speechless.....!!!!! I am still waiting for the black parts (ordered from Bricklink), now you make me wanna built it white too!!! Fantastic in both colors!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Quote
Lakop Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 Ouch! That front grill and those white rims are mean. Quality! You should have a picture printed and put up on your wall. H Quote

So It's very difficult to say which one is better... :D And, somebody could make this rod in ratty version :) No apology needed! Its amazing how different colours change a model so dramatically. I did want to make a white one, just didn't have the parts then, hehe. Quote
OzBen Posted February 3, 2014 Author Posted February 3, 2014 Cheers for the kind words guys Nice work! the 41999 rims really improve the looks! The rims definitely complete the colour scheme, that was the deciding factor when choosing the colour i was going to go with And, somebody could make this rod in ratty version :) I have other plans for a heavily modified version of the base model, gotta find the time to build now........ Doc_Brown Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 I wonder what the white rims would look like on the black body? I would love to see some other mods too, like retractable top! Quote
