MattZitron Posted April 23, 2007 Posted April 23, 2007 Right Gang, I've been away for a while, and come back to hear about this nasty old 3P0 situation. So this thread is a forum for connecting with a fellow EBer in the US to see if they can hook you up in the spirit of friendship. So here's what we do. If you want someone to help you out say so here. American Ebers say if you're willing to try and help a fellow Eber out. It'll work on a first come, first serve basis, and you'll have to work out a deal that suits you both out. So I would like someone to help me out if they can. Any takers? Matt P.S: When do the sets with the figs go on sale?

Matt P.S: When do the sets with the figs go on sale? Well Matt this is a nice idea but I'm a little confused about what the purpose is. You mean getting Americans to ship sets to Europeans, or you mean a deal for selling the golden C3PO itself? I'm afraid the low numbers will mean that barely anyone on EB even gets one, let alone two :-/
xenologer Posted April 23, 2007 Posted April 23, 2007 I'm from the US, but I very rarely buy SW sets; since I am Not a Fan of the License... However; if I do happen to buy a set as a parts pack and miraculously find such a C3PO. I'd probably be willing to trade for something along the lines of... a rare Paradisa female minifig or two... So, I'll keep it in mind... anyone know the basic info on Which sets qualify and when? Related note, lego sets are supposedly precisely weighed to validate the propor parts count when packing(according to customerservice when you complain about missing bricks). With this kind of standardization in the weight of boxes, seems to me that the addition of the Gold C3PO would possibly be detectable with a precision scale (prefferably portable, so you can use it on the shelf at stores) - ?maybe good idea?

I believe it was verified that the error in weight of the glue alone for the boxes more than makes up for the weight of a single C3PO. However if you want to trade for a single rare figure or two, put me down on your list as well, I have many, many old figs X-D
xenologer Posted April 23, 2007 Posted April 23, 2007 weight of the glue alone Good point. Plus they'd probably be so rare that you wouldn't get a big enough sample size to test the theory. Waste an hour trying to weight 20 boxes... when theres a good chance that None of them had one... So it's just a matter of luck I guess! (or a metal detector, but whos that crazy? :-D )

It's...not like I considered using a very strong magnet on the boxes or anything 8-| :-$
MattZitron Posted April 23, 2007 Author Posted April 23, 2007 There's always a chance. Its worth just taking note of who wants one.
sam89 Posted April 23, 2007 Posted April 23, 2007 FBTB and Rebelscum will both be holding competitions for Europeans to win these gold 3Pos, I believe.
snefroe Posted April 23, 2007 Posted April 23, 2007 FBTB and Rebelscum will both be holding competitions for Europeans to win these gold 3Pos, I believe. :-| i don't get it. Two American sites organising a lottery/competition for Europeans? :-| aren't those sites floaded with American members anyway?
sam89 Posted April 23, 2007 Posted April 23, 2007 That's the point. Steve Witt is giving them out to those sites so that Europeans have a chance to get them.
Starwars4J Posted April 23, 2007 Posted April 23, 2007 Is that taking away from the american ones though? Or are those on top of the original 10k?
Vader Posted April 24, 2007 Posted April 24, 2007 Well heres a thought instead of giving an American site some c-3po's for us europeons how about giving them to an bloody europeon site for europeons!!! Shhhhhhhh......... :-|

And why not to US a EUROPEAN website ?? G, this lack of communication and bullcrap really aggravates me big time !! If Lego wants to hold competitions for Europeans do it in that refgion and NOT the US once again !! How complicated is that to comprehend ?? I guess way too complicated for them :-| Once again I fail to see the logic behind this pro US policies !! I will stop here before getting too angry !! Pissed Off Big Time *yoda*

ScottManDeath Posted April 26, 2007 Posted April 26, 2007 And what is with Europeans living in the US then ;)
stan Posted April 27, 2007 Posted April 27, 2007 Just like to say, i would love to get one if someone can help me out :-)
Athos Posted April 27, 2007 Posted April 27, 2007 Well if I somehow manage to find two of them (unlikely, as I'm not anticipating buying many/any Star Wars sets), I hereby commit to release the second one into the community. Perhaps by way of a prize for a contest. I'm thinking of a "build a monument to my greatness" contest. X-D Steve
oo7 Posted April 27, 2007 Posted April 27, 2007 I'm thinking of a "build a monument to my greatness" contest. X-D Great idea! Although if I manage to find one of those little buggers, I'm going to have to sell it on bricklink. X-D How much will these things sell for? Only god knows........
