adotnamedstud Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 I'm calling it. IV, VII are/will be the best. And I think that I, II, and III could've been executed way better and wouldn't have needed such a terrible love story. I'd also have liked to see more planets and a bit more of a Clone Wars vibe rather than politics. Quote
m0dulo Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 (edited) ESB is the best movie. Clones is the worst Ever see Ewan McGregor's reaction when he found out the title? Edited September 1, 2014 by m0dulo Quote
General Magma Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 Best - Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back Worst - Episode II: Attack of the Clones And who knows, the new trilogy might turn out to be even better than any of the six movies so far. Fingers crossed for that. Quote
robuko Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 My favourite is The Empire Strikes Back followed by Star Wars. My least favourite is Revenge of the With. It's a great story that is utterly ruined by Hayden Christiansen and George Lucas (as director and as writer) Quote
rodiziorobs Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 The OT is definitely cheesy, the effects dated, and the acting less-than-great, but overall the series has a kind of charm thay makes it enjoyable. The story in some places is weak, but holds up well as an adventure story. The PT on the other hand has better effects, but the acting is considerably worse, wringing performances that range from melodramatic to outright bad from normally good actors such as Liam Neeson, Christopher Lee, Samuel L. Jackson, etc. Not to mention bad actors such as Hayden Christensen and Natalie Portman (say what you will). What could make a great adventure story gets bogged down with a wooden love story and political tension without the tension, the great battlefield scenes never feel like anything more than completely fake, and most importantly of all, the PT lacks that je-ne-sais-quoi element of charm that the OT had. For those reasons: ESB #1 (followed by ANH, ROTJ), AotC last (preceded by RotS, TPM). I'm cautiously optimistic about the upcoming films, but not exactly hopeful. Quote
Borador Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 Favorite is Return of the Jedi... Least favorite? Clone Wars: The Movie. If that doesn't count, then... I don't know... Quote
montgocloud Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014 (edited) Ever see Ewan McGregor's reaction when he found out the title? Wow, that's hilarious! "Is that better than Phantom Menace? I don't know..." Edited September 2, 2014 by montyofmusic Quote

BrickG Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014 Greatest to Worst: V IV VI (used to be V, VI, IV but my taste changed) -5000000 lines later- III II I The Prequels are just bad. Quote
m0dulo Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 (edited) Most Favorite: The original prints of IV, V, then VI. Least Favorite: Everything else. Edited September 6, 2014 by m0dulo Quote
Tariq j Posted September 7, 2014 Posted September 7, 2014 My favourite is ROTJ. Definately the best storyline of the originals. Worst? Probably The Phantom Menace. I didn't have that many problems with it. But I felt, compared to the other movies this one lacked in certain areas. Quote
Palathadric Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 Attack of the Clones. I hate the whole of the prequel trilogy, I really do. And I was born somewhat close to the prequel trilogy generation. But as the years passed by, I started noticing all of the leaps in logic and the horrible, horrible flaws. This one takes the cake though. From the sterile and emotionless battle scenes to the sterile and emotionless love scenes, it's completely unwatchable. I have a slim amount of nostalgia for the Phantom Menace. I hate it, sure, but there's at least something going for it. And it was hard to choose between Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith, I despise both so much. But at least Revenge of the Sith has a great screen presence in Ian McDiarmid. His performance in ROTS is the only thing that's fun to watch in the entirety of the prequel films. My least favorite is actually AOTC. Young annoying Ani and Jar-Jar I can deal with. Teenage angsty Anakin and Padme...not so much. Very much agree. I can't decide which of the IV-VI is my favourite, because every time I've watched them I've watched them all through. So it's kind of like one big blur. Quote
