Godless-Mimicry Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 Right. I can't see a way they could do them all that well since they would either be repeating the same characters or having a limited selection of repeatables. There really is only limited choice and I couldn't see them doing it. Quote
Blakstone Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 I think LEGO would need a new license in order to do it. But if they combined The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings they could have army builder characters and alternate prints of main characters to build a wave out of. Of course the different promos seems to give us all the options for Bilbo already. Good examples would be Merry in a Gondor tabard. It is a good print but one that is not likely to show up in a LotR set (if there ever are new ones) and Hama (Theoden's doorward). Quote
greenalfonzo Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 I will admit that LOTR would have a much stronger selection of characters to choose from for a CMF series. I got excited seeing all those movie figure packs or whatever. Maybe the 3rd Hobbit movie will have tons of new, cool characters that don't make it into sets, but right now you sit down and do 2 sets of 16 figures from LOTR, both unique and army builders, that would be very popular sellers. deskp Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 (edited) There ara quite enough good characters and outfits to make a good selection of 16 HOBBIT figures. Fimbul Narzug armored gundabad captain Lindir Mirkwood palace guard rivendell knight Thrain Braga Tilda Sigrid mirkwood ranger(one that isnt crap) Armored Thranduil Armored Dwarves---- Edited March 25, 2014 by deskp Quote

Godless-Mimicry Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 Most of those are just script names though, in the end they are just more orcs and elves. Quote
greenalfonzo Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 I'd rather not see both of Bard's daughters in one CMF series. Quote

Godless-Mimicry Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 I'd rather not see both of Bard's daughters in one CMF series. Yeah, it has stumped me for months now why there is so much demand for Lego figures of his daughters. Quote
deskp Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 (edited) ...um who's percy? The toll inspector bard talks to. Most of those are just script names though, in the end they are just more orcs and elves. Well they are featured orcs. FImbul is the one who searched for the dwarves in auj, hes like a 2. in comand to Azog. In DOS hes beheaded by legolas in laketown. Narzug is the orc that tries to shoot legolas that gets captured by tauriel and interrogated by Thranduil. They both have unique apperances. I'd rather not see both of Bard's daughters in one CMF series. Well, the fact is that 1 CMF series could give us just about every remaining hobbit characther. so we would end up with a complete cast for all 3 movies, and still leave room for alternate print characters. kevkipo Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 Most of those are just script names though, in the end they are just more orcs and elves. And Dwarves... Everyone is always Elf here and Orc there. There's more than Elf in Middle Earth, you'll see in BO5A! I assume Iron hills soldier will come in bo5a set ;) I do hope so Deskp! Quote
deskp Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 I do hope so Deskp! I think the ironhills dwarves are the sefe bet, the armroed orcs and the armored elves are the ones im more scared for not being made. those elves in particular... Quote
Alfadas Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 What is there even going to be in the movie besides the bo5a and the return to Bilbo's home? Not that much I think? O and the demolishing of Lake Town of course. Quote

Legoman123 Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 (edited) July 24-27th Thanks, I thought it was some time in July. Or you could just go to SDCC.com Oh and I didn't even think about going to SDCC.com. Edited March 25, 2014 by Legoman123 Quote
Alfadas Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 Dol guldur resolution with Galadriel etc. Thanks :D I do think making a whole movie (which I will gladly go to) about a huge battle, a resolution and the return home is a bit weird. But well, it is going to be a cool movie I guess and hope. Quote
IvanStorm Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 Thanks :D I do think making a whole movie (which I will gladly go to) about a huge battle, a resolution and the return home is a bit weird. But well, it is going to be a cool movie I guess and hope. Pretty sure the battle won't start until at least the middle of the movie. Aside from Smaug's Lake Town assault and White Council's Dol Guldur venture, there's also a gathering of all the separate factions at Erebor and tense confrontation with the dwarves holed inside. And of course, whatever extra stuff PJ has in store for the 3rd movie - Legolas, Bolg, Tauriel, etc. Quote

Legoman123 Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 (edited) Do we know what we are actually getting in the other part of the Laketown set? Edited March 25, 2014 by Legoman123 Quote
deskp Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 Do we know what we are actually getting in the other part of the Laketown set? Bain and a belltower is the word. Quote
kevkipo Posted March 26, 2014 Posted March 26, 2014 Does anyone else think the same as me for BO5A set: As it is a pretty high price, im gonna say this 2 Dale buildings (As the fighting happens in Dale) A Small and a Tower like one, Beige and grey colored Characters: Bolg, Dain, Iron Hill Soldier, Elf Soldier, Armored Kili, Armored Fili, Mirkwood Elf Soldier (The ones that i highlited are a must for the set) The polybags will be: Iron Hill Footsoldier, Mirkwood Elf Soldier Quote
deskp Posted March 26, 2014 Posted March 26, 2014 (edited) Im still holding out hope that Bolg is in laketown. freeing up space in bo5a my list would be: Dain, Iron hills soldier, orc soldier x2, elf soldier. I do however think lego will make way to many repeat dwarves, in erebor, bo5a and lake town. They already gave us the full company I dont want them taking up space that should be given to NEW soldiers and characters. Erebor is proapbly gonna be like bilbo + 5-6 dwarves I do not want any more dwarves in any other sets except Dain and Iron hills soldier. Essential new minifigures for the wave to let us make a good bo5a : Dain iron hills soldier armored Bolg Mirkwood solder, armored - This is the figure I expect lego to not make, and it will be a great travesty.. gundabad orc soldier, armored Edited March 26, 2014 by deskp Quote
AFOLguy1970 Posted March 26, 2014 Posted March 26, 2014 Mirkwood solder, armored - This is the figure I expect lego to not make, and it will be a great travesty.. There could still be hope. If the Mirkwood Elves are armored in BOFA and Lego has been given a chance to somehow preview the appearance of them, then an armored variant could emerge. There might be a separate armor piece, or it might simply be printing like they did with Thranduil. Agreed that members of the dwarven company will probably be repeated, although probably not all of them. Since the Erebor set is apparently based on DOS, then it would really limit the set to Bilbo and some dwarves. Laketown, BOFA, and the Galadriel/Witch King set will provide the big chance of seeing new characters. Quote
kevkipo Posted March 26, 2014 Posted March 26, 2014 Well i hope they put some good dwarves in Erebor, I would like to see some new clothing For the rest of the sets you are right, Room for new Characters would be nice! But we need new variants of the dwarves! Quote
