BigJoe Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 My picks are: Lando, Wedge, Capt. Antilles, Commander Cody(EP III), Commander Bly(CW/EP III). i would agree with Bly (CW/Ep III0 or even the Ph.1 version of him Looking forward to this new edition as I love the original. I hope we get a look at some prototype sets like the Yavin Base from the last edition. As for the unknown figure, I think an Obi-Wan spirit would be perfect. It could pave the way for other spirit figures, but if not, Kenobi had the most spirit screen time. I would throw him in with the Wampa Cave. yes totally should have that instead Quote
BigJoe Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 what about a 21st nova corps trooper. or maybe even Commander Bacara Quote
jindianajonz Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 I had mentioned it previously in the speculation thread, but with the Ewok Village omitting the force spirits, I think books like this and exclusives are the only way we would ever see them. And I'd much rather them be widely available through a book than limited through comiccon. Quote
Fives Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 With the advancements in trans-coloured minifig pieces (JEK-114 and the upcoming Electro), perhaps LEGO will take a stab at a Force ghost. If that doesn't happen, I'd like to see a Bespin Lando or Luke. It seems that our chances of getting an updated Bespin set are getting slimmer each day we get closer to Ep 7, so at least giving us an updated Lando would be a nice treat. Quote

I wouldn't even mind if they did it similar to the ghosts in the LOTR Ship, with faded printing on powder blue figs If that doesn't happen, I'd like to see a Bespin Lando or Luke. It seems that our chances of getting an updated Bespin set are getting slimmer each day we get closer to Ep 7, so at least giving us an updated Lando would be a nice treat. I don't think that Episode VII would preclude the possibility of a new Bespin. Lego has always done a pretty good job of mixing prequel and original trilogies throughout the year in the Star Wars line even when the prequels were coming out in theaters. I wouldn't be surprised if they follow the LOTR/Hobbit model of releasing a winter wave that is jam packed with movie related sets, and a summer wave featuring "classic sets" (and I use that term loosely to include prequel sets). Cult_Of_Skaro Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 Jake Lloyd minifig? BURN THE HERETIC!!! No seriously, I still think "Lando in Han's clothes" from the very end of Empire would be a good candidate. It's an unusual variant of a main character that would never otherwise see production. If they do go PT, maybe something like a "naked C3po"? I would personally love a naked C-3PO. That would make me get the book on the first day. Quote
CocoaGeek Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 Jar Jar Binks, Episode 2 version ... :D Quote

The_Chosen_1 Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 I would personally love a naked C-3PO. That would make me get the book on the first day. This would probably be my top pick as well. I would also love to have a Boba Fett minifigure as he appeared in the Holiday Special: http://artinsights.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/20130411110743.jpg Quote

Skinny bow legs don't work in LEGO. As far as the holiday special, though, I want Chewbacca's family! I mean, who doesn't want a stopmotion rendition of the special? Quote
Seaber Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 Dodonna is a good shout. By releasing Celebration Luke, Han and Leia in other sets, it seems unlikely we'll ever see Yavin IV as a set, so this could be one of the only places to get him. Plus, it would continue the Yavin IV tradition! I think they'll stick with an OT main character. I'd go for: Recovery Robe Luke (Episode V), Han's Clothes Lando (Episode V), General Leia (Episode V) or ENDOR HAN. Quote
DarthPotato Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 I agree about doing force ghosts. I was really hoping they'd be in the Ewok Village from last year but they weren't. Now there's really no other spot for the Anakin and Yoda ghosts. But I definitely think Lego can do the ghosts now. The Electro figure from the upcoming Spiderman set I think is a nice way for Lego to do that. And since Yoda's head's rubber they could just recolor it a pale bluish color. This way, they have three new ways to put exclusive figures into sets and it won't require any new molds. Quote
Darth Malgus Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 in the vain of some of the funny proposals so far I'm going to say Episode 2 Watto "Anni, little Anni?... It is you!" Darth Revan or Malak would cool from an Eu persepctive never happen though. Quote

I really think the only ghost we would ever reasonably get would be Obi Wan, as he is a recurring character that drives the story. He could easily show up either in a new Wampa cave or a new Dagobah set. Artistically he would probably look 100x better as a powder blue opaque figure, like the LotR army of the dead or Ninjago NRG Zane. Trans clear is gimmicky and honestly would probably look like megablocks. Besides if you watch the movie they really aren't that transparent. It's more they are surrounded by a blue glow. Quote
ResIpsaLoquitur Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 How about this version of 3PO? Just a head, torso, and one arm with no hand. Ha-ha, seriously, that'll never happen (easy mod, though). It is from one of my favorite Star Wars short stories. The description in the article doesn't do it justice. Quote
strangely Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 Well if they keep on going the "celebration" route with characters I would expect Episode 1 Padme from the celebration after the battle of Naboo. Honestly any Padme variation is welcome, but this one would fit perfectly with the other celebration minifigures contained in these books. Plus there's no reason she'd ever appear in a set like this, so this is a good enough opportunity for this particular variation. As for a wild card guess I'll go for either ep1 or ep2 C3PO. Both variations are welcome. In fact any other variation of him is welcome (Please Lego, give us variations for all the movies). Quote

Yeah, I agree that him just being blue with no translucent parts would be fine, and I thought if Lego ever did the ghosts they'd just do that for a while, but when I saw the new Electro figure it made me think they'd do the ghosts more like that. Either way would probably work though. And who knows, even if the Yoda and Anakin ghosts don't do anything it definitely doesn't rule them out as a minifigure in the Star Wars line. I mean, look at the possible May the 4th polybag (TC-4). Although if they did ever do force ghost Anakin it would be interesting to see which actor they choose for him. Still, I'd be fine with just Obi-Wan and Yoda. Quote

jindianajonz Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 And since Yoda's head's rubber they could just recolor it a pale bluish color. I didn't think of that. If this is the case, I would much rather all three ghosts be an opaque blue instead of mixing translucent and opaque elements. The Electro figure really bugs me for this reason. Quote
Blondie-Wan Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 (edited) I actually think a mix of opaque and translucent colors would be great for a Force ghost, if they did one - perhaps opaque for the torso and hips, and translucent for the arms and legs (or perhaps opaque torso, hips and legs, with just the arms translucent), so that there'd be substantial translucency without actually having trans-on-trans assemblies. It would also mean the most substantial, core part of the body would be the most "solid," with the extremities being more ephemeral-looking. And perhaps the opaque parts could be glow-in-the-dark? But since this book is an updated version of an already-released "set," another neat thing might be to just have an updated version of the figure that came with the original. Normally I'm not a fan of "updates" for minifigures, particularly for rank-and-file army-builder types like stormtroopers, but for specific, unique, named characters it's not so bad, and there are now new parts available that could allow for two major improvements upon the original award ceremony Luke. First, there's the new-ish hair element, which finally captures Luke's locks from ANH, and secondly there's now the medal. The shape is different from the Alliance medal in the movie, but that could be overcome with clever printing on the strap at the points where its ends connect to the medal, and it would allow us to accurately show Luke both right before and right after getting it. All that said, here are some of my personal picks for what minifigure should come with the book (not that it matters, since it was undoubtedly decided upon months ago, but anyway...): Luke Skywalker (award ceremony) (updated as described above) C-3PO (polished - chromed) (updated print design, as per the last couple years and the new TC-4) Beru Lars (ANH - and no, a skeleton won't do ) Jaxxon Zuckuss 4-LOM Biggs Darklighter (Tatooine, from the famous deleted scenes from ANH) ... or anyone from (specific to) The Star Wars Holiday Special, the made-for-TV Ewok movies, or the Droids & Ewoks animated series. Godtshep Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 Admiral Dodonna would be cool, but so would Han-clothes Lando. Quote

I imagine it'll be a relatively famous player from the originals given LEGO's history and the recent OT push by Disney. Quote
