Hi all,

Here's a microscale project I've been working on for a while. Is something truly microscale if it covers six baseplates and is 40 bricks high? Anyway, here is my rendition of Minas Tirth

I tried to make an effort to match this to my other Minas Tirth MOCs. Here is my full-scale Tower of Ecthelion

Here are my full-scale city gates

Hi Bruce, what an absolutely astounding MOC you have for us! I've never been a huge fan of microscale, but this might just change my mind ;-)

You've made a beautiful mountain, with a realistic, and lively city carved out of it. That white thing in front of the tower...in both microscale and full scale I assume to be some sort of statue, rather than a tree, right? Also your rendition of the castle gates is one of the few situations where BGW syndrome actually improves the look of the MOC :-P

Hm, my only criticism would maybe be to leave some sort of pathway for the citizens to get from one semi-circle to another? I'm not an expert on Minas Tirith, so I don't know if that's just a general design of the place. Regardless, fantastic MOC: both at system-, and micro-scale *sweet*

One fantastic MOC you've made here. My one criticism is the fact that it isn't primarily white. Although I know how hard this would be, and I still commend you highly on your effort.

Don't tell me you didn't know that was the White Tree of Gondor :-P

Anyway, this looks real promising. But it's Minas Tirith, so it just has to be white. I suppose you're going to change that? You have to agree that it looks so good mainly because it's all white:

Hey all,

Thanks for the comments. Yes, that is a dead white tree by the pool on the upper level. You'll have to read the book (or follow that Wikipedia link) for its importance. You'll also just have to imagine tunnels leading from each level to the next. They're on the sides, alternating left and right with each level, so you couldn't really see them anyway. On the color choices, my mental image was formed 20 years before Peter Jackson made his movies, so I never saw the city as being all white buildings.

Very nice Bruce. I always pictured the city as 'once white', which you capture fairly well ; ) Given that this is micro scale I can't wait to see the size of your next fig scale endeavor!

God Bless,

Nathan
