I was talking with JJ.Walkers and he said there was only about 50 members on Eurobricks. I hope he is wrong. But really, exactly how many members are there?

Posted

If you mean regular members then I think there is (at the time of this post) 1276 members registered to Eurobricks.

Edit: Lol Shine you beat me to it!

A small group of us (perhaps the 50 that you mention) probably account for about 50% of the posts (or greater). Just an educated guess, but as an old member, I think the important thing is the quality of the discussions vs. the # of members.

i think the FBTB forum has more members than eurobricks.

anyone knows why?

If you look at our member number and fbtb's then thats pretty obvious, they have more members because they have been around a few years longer.

Like all forums theres always a core membership that posts a fair amount, were no different but ill wager its well above 50 members.

Perhaps, but FBTB does not have the diversity/variety of topics and forums that EB has.

Off course NOT since FBTB is solely SW oriented ;-)

But I still do NOT get the point of this thread *wacko*

Your not alone on that one *yoda*

Like *yoda* pointed out fbtb is mainly SW oriented, which is fine for them at this time. We however have tried to build a site that will last beyond a license, thats why we cover all lego.......even that bionicle rubbish :-P ;-)

well actually, i asked *yoda* yesterday why we don't have a clikits forum and he said he would visit that section, so your Grand Moff, leader of an entire tie fleet, is actually a sissy, my Lord :-P Maybe you should reassign him to ... let's say the production line of yub yub burgers... X-D

anyway, fbtb may have more members, based on the number of posts, i'd say we're far more active ...

Regarding FBTB / EB: way back when, when I got into SW and felt like discussing it, I Googled Star Wars LEGO. Obviously FBTB was top of the list, more focussed, has has a way cool name. You have to admit that SW fans make up quite a percentage of EB's membership so it therefore stands to reason that FBTB would gain more members. That said, they're also very good at putting off members, who tend to gravitate here. Perhaps with the new SW section, we'll gain greater proninence and things will change.

Compared to BZPower, we got an tiny list of members.

But as said before in this thread, EB is about Lego, Life and Fun.. The LLF ;-)

We tried to make this a good place to be, with friends... Kinda like the old TV show Cheers...

I have to say I like the idea of a European Forum to discuss Lego. That's not to say our friends from the US and other countries aren't welcome its just that I like the idea of a European site focusing on a European toy. At least that's my perception. That being said, someone will probably extract some statistics to demonstrate that most members are from outside of Europe adespite the name of the site and that the same people frequent all the Lego forums!!

I don't post on fbtb.net but do frequent that site. It seems to me that the site is not as active as this one, which might not be that surprising given its natural tendancy towards Star Wars but what I have noticed is that there are plenty of fairly sharpish posts directed at new members. While I can understand that people can get annoyed at newbies God help anyone who asks a question that has been answered in the 23rd post of a 40 page thread 6 months ago!! The search button is not always your friend!! Incidentally despite that site specialising in Star Wars some of the best pics this year and news/rumours have emerged from other sites including this one.

Even though Bricklink is a buy/sell site the discussions in the forum there are quite interesting sometimes. When you post there, like here, you are likely to get a response from someone who knows their Lego.
