3) What would get you visiting this website on a regular basis?

This website is for Pirate LEGO fans, so tell us what you'd like! We cannot guarentee we can implement everything but we'll do our best.

Currently we have several indexes for listing MOCs: Indexes - Libraries - Tutorials.

Good idea, but it won't be easy to select them.

Will we give preference to MOCs from our members when possible?

If I didn't want members input then I wouldn't have mentioned it in this thread ;-) Honestly I'd have trouble choosing the 5, so help will be required - but that won't be for a couple of weeks.

I think it is great that a LEGO Pirate fan site has been created. It should be separate from EB with its own forums, articles, set archives, building standards, etc all hosted on CP.

An independent forum is being considered for the future, however we are unsure of the best way to proceed. Unless we start from scratch we'll need to transfer everything to the new domain which will be time consuming and complicated. It won't be as simple as transferring the files, it will probably involve some downtime so we'll need to have little on our schedules to ensure that's as minimil as possible.

In the meantime we will continue developing the Portal Website and establish Classic-Pirates.com within the AFOL community.

I'll get the Master Index Builder's opinion on that one. I'm not fussed where its located just so long as everyone agrees its the most convenient place.

The INDEX: Cannon MOCs and Index: Accessory MOCs both still need to be added to the portal.

Question is, do they belong more into the MOC Galleries or Tutorials-sections?

Well, they don't contain actual instructions, so my first idea would be to put them in the MOC Galleries.

But I understand why Mr. Tedbeard would put them with the Tutorials. The smaller the MOCs, the easier they are to reproduce.

I'll leave the final decision to the webmaster X-D

I don't think I'll use the Cannon MOC Index for building purposes, rather I'd just browse it to look at the MOCs. There's always the possibility we could put a link in both areas just so long as its not confusing.

I think the Accessory index would make more sense in the tutorial section,

a good portion of the "MOCs" are actually portions of MOCs.

As for the Cannon Index, I have no idea. If you need to pick one, i don't think it really matters.

Mr. P wants it in the MOCs portion while Tedbeard wants it in the tutorials.

I don't think it'd be confusing to have it in both. I'll leave that up to the boss (Mr. Phes)

Why not, but where will you draw the line with the "links" page?

In general, I suggest to try to limit the number of items in the "Menu".

I suggest I agree with you. There's already plenty there now and we I must think toward the future because no doubt there will be more added for certain features which are yet to be implemented.

Phes, this is a really nice GUI.

I don't have much to offer in terms of suggestions for improvment, but wanted to say "nice job". I really like the overall look of the main page with the water in the background and the parchment look of the menus. And you got my review of the CC in, so I'm happy. If I think of something constructive, I'll respond again.

One suggestion: have a NEWS or Hot Topics link. You could post things like the main page of EB. The Pirates of the Carribean Contest comes to mind.

The main page (index.html) will be the news/hot topic area, so you'll it every time you go to Classic-Pirate.com. No news has been added yet because I wanted to keep the opening annoucement up front for at least a week.

But this could change very soon...

Very neat; LEGO Pirates now has its own site again! What I would like to see is postings of pirate MOCs on the front page like Classic-Castle does. And as others have said, great job on the layout, interface, and graphics!

I have made some updates!

Norrington's "Dead Men Tell No Tales" Vignette Contest is the second news item on the main page.

The Cannon MOC Index and the Accessories MOC Index have been added to both the Tutorials and MOC Galleries pages.

The Wikipedia Index has been added to the Links page under the Historic Reference section.
