trekman Posted December 16, 2013 Posted December 16, 2013 (edited) We have been able to finish some of our MOCs which we have been working at. This one is an off-loader crane, where three motors power all the functions. One XL motor drives the main arm lift, grabber rotation, grabber open/close. A geared old style square motor operates the crane rotation, and a m-motor drives the dipper.A pneumatic pump sorts out the rear jacks and a HOG wheel operates the steering. It is a great challenge to play with, but it was nice to get the grabber rotation and open/close powered, instead of a double bevel gear sticking out somewhere.Enjoy. Alasdair Ryan Posted December 16, 2013 Posted December 16, 2013 Nice truck, with nice functions. Telescopic legs (out ways) and a nicer crane I think might of made it better. Quote
timslegos Posted December 16, 2013 Posted December 16, 2013 Nice functions, lots of playabilitiy! tim Quote
Gee Posted December 16, 2013 Posted December 16, 2013 I like it. Functional as opposed to pretty, which is cool in my book. Quote
trekman Posted December 16, 2013 Author Posted December 16, 2013 Yep, I could have built a "nicer" crane, but you then end up with a hook instead of a grab. I could have gone all pneumatic for the crane, but that was too easy, and I did want some measure of challenge. The gearbox of the crane is the main structure, and I know it is not overly neat, but it works well, which imo is more important. Thanks for all the comments. Quote
