In the past Lego has turned to making video games like Knights Kingdom, Star wars, Rock Raiders, ect.

So why not turn videogames in to Lego. Just imagine a Minifig of Masterchief that you can put into a Warthog and imagine the all the futureistic guns(*wub*) or Link in the Castle of Hyrule trying to save Zelda and defeat Ganondorf! I could go on like this... but anyways what do you think?

I have seen some great minifig mocs from games including Halo 2 and Legend of Zelda. But I think that the main problems in transforming a lot of these games into Lego is that,

a) Most are violent/invlove weapons which would not be possible for Lego to make

b) Minifigs would look great but it is hard to creat actual sets of games as usually the game takes place in a lot of different places (if you understand what I mean *wacko* ) :-D

Plus, most games don't last

Lets hope that the Lego Star Wars game will be an exception too.

I somehow doubt it'll become a classic like those three (at least a decade of fame), but it'll probably be fun.

I never meant that it will compete with the likes of tetris etc.. as I'm sure it never will do. I was just saying I hope it does better than a lot of other Lego games which always seem to fail :/

Hm, would be a very interesting idea...

I think they best games to convert into bricks would be older 2D games like Zelda or Diablo or whatever, they have a clear structure you could recreate by some "modul'ish" sets, e.g. some rooms that can be put together in several ways to create some Diablo dungeon!

I think it would also be possible to do some 'violant' games that are more ancient or futuristic based, TLC doesn't do anything else by releasing Star Wars sets or the knight lines...
