Corvus Posted April 5, 2007 Posted April 5, 2007 Now, I know that this mech has been up on my brickshelf for a while, but I thought that this mech deserved to get a proper introduction. So, I whipped out a camera, a blanket (it took forever to find a nice white one) and a few stools. This is DinoBot- I know that's not a good name, and if someone has a better one, please, tell me. DinoBot is made from the set 4507 Prehistoric creatures- you can tell his torso is made from the head of the T-Rex. DinoBot is an Ecdon-B army prototype, the only one of his kind. The Ecdon-series is built to be customizable. Here, he is shown in a four armed version. The Ecdon-B model is capable of powerful jumps, using his wings and burst-blast rockets. Here is more examples of his flexibilty to suit any situation. The wings and head detach, giving him more advantage in the air and ground. Here's his head. It's pretty simple, but it took a while to find something that I liked, even though the head doesn't turn. Here's some of his armaments. This is a blade/shield for combat with enemy mechs. Here's a cannon for enemies that refuse to come close. Here are some other pics: Run, HYT, run! *note- this isn't an exo-force MOC* side crawl mode Gallery (when moderated) Well, that's about it. Comments, questions, and constructive critisism welcome. Enjoy! EDIT: sorry about the pic size, a bit big. Quote
Dino_Bot Posted April 5, 2007 Posted April 5, 2007 Oh dear, I REALLY let myself go! And what do you mean "its not a good name"? Quote
Corvus Posted April 5, 2007 Author Posted April 5, 2007 Oh, sorry. I meant for this guy, not you. Quote
Dino_Bot Posted April 5, 2007 Posted April 5, 2007 ...right.... :-/ I wish I had the prehistoric set, I have the tricerastops one, but I gotta say, this one kicked butt. I wish I could have gotten it. Quote
Asuka Posted April 5, 2007 Posted April 5, 2007 Very nice with a good color scheme too, but here is a short tutorial for resizing pictures.... :-) Quote
Corvus Posted April 5, 2007 Author Posted April 5, 2007 Thanks. *y* I need to remember that for future MOCs. Quote
oo7 Posted April 5, 2007 Posted April 5, 2007 Thanks. *y* I need to remember that for future MOCs. How about you practice with these now, and maybe even suceed and re-upload them to Brickshelf. Right now it's very hard to judge the MOC, and I have one of the larger moniters. Quote
Corvus Posted April 5, 2007 Author Posted April 5, 2007 Done. They're half the size. Better? Or does it need to go smaller? Quote
zero1312 Posted April 5, 2007 Posted April 5, 2007 Damn, you beat me in building a transforming mech. |-/ He's cool, though. *y* Quote
Eurobricks Emperor Bonaparte Posted April 6, 2007 Eurobricks Emperor Posted April 6, 2007 Done. They're half the size. Better? Or does it need to go smaller? Normally we try to make the pics 800x600 (or 800xSomething for keeping the aspect ratio). This way they fit nicely on most peoples monitors. Here you can find a link to a "batch image resize" tutorial. Seems like a very flexible design and the colors are just perfect. The head is really well designed! Quote
Starwars4J Posted April 6, 2007 Posted April 6, 2007 Was this built entirely within the Dino Creator set? I've always had an admiration for people who can make nice-looking MOCs within the confines of a single set! This makes me really want to purchase it now... 8-| Wonderful parts usage, and some innovative building! I love the use of that trans neon-green cover for an energy blast Quote
Asuka Posted April 6, 2007 Posted April 6, 2007 Much better now! I like the flexibility of this bot, especially that ground modus. Cool! *y* Quote
Zaktan of the Shadows Posted April 6, 2007 Posted April 6, 2007 Nice! I like it. Looks very cool. The customization feature is awesome! KUTGW! -ZotS Quote
Corvus Posted April 8, 2007 Author Posted April 8, 2007 SW4J: Almost entirely. There were one or three parts, such as the trans-green on the head and blaster, that weren't there. Quote
iamded Posted April 11, 2007 Posted April 11, 2007 You know, I never thought of doing a dinosaur themed mech. Good job. Quote
Corvus Posted June 25, 2007 Author Posted June 25, 2007 Nice! I like it. Looks very cool. The customization feature is awesome! KUTGW!-ZotS I like making it modifiable. More fun. BTW, what does KUTGW mean? Quote
