ur exactly right, my idea is most passenger car/truck/vans are 4 wide (im experitmenting with a 5 wide Hummer and exotic sport cars :-X ). all my heavy trucks are 6 wide. being im soon to graduate from college (second time) for diesel technology i have a lot of hands on time with the rigs and came down to the conclusion that 6 wide is the right size.

for example, those trucks will fit right in with my 6 wide tractor trailor...

and i think this is a better size for a dump truck (note mine is a tri-axle, not rlly happy with the lenght yet)...

those 4 wide heavy trucks just seem way to small for my taste. there are a few that i will re-build from the sets i own and mod them to be 6 wide...

Who has said that the French is a hard language? *sweet*

What I mean is I'm only at GCSE level, and a lot of the text I can work out. Not all of it, so please don't ask me to. ;-)

And Hobbes, you seem to have a lot of sets that I always dream to have, like those old seaport sets... *wub* Maybe, one day...

They frequently show up on ebay, not all that expensive...

Now all Lego needs to do is work on the train sets. I have seen many pictures of 8-wide locomotives and railcars and I built some models of my own using this style. I would have to say, 8-wide locos with 6-wide trucks looks very realistic. I was hesitant at first on this type of scale, but after building my model, I could see what the other modelers saw. This is a good combo. :-)

I agree, trains have to be wider than the rails, that's something that has always bothered me. But 8-wide is too big IMHO. You have to make the models a bit longer and they look awkward in curves. I read that train fans prefer 7-wide. It gives them the possibility to build details (like wheel greeblies) yet the model don't have to be too long. If it only weren't that difficult to build ;-)

It's just that french appears like a hard language for foreigners. And it's hard for the French too! (I'm not a good writter, I make a lot of grammar and orthography mistakes... *wacko* )

And don't worry, in general, foreigners are better in french than the French in english!

I will stop here this of-topic...
