dr_spock Posted November 30, 2013 Posted November 30, 2013 I was playing around to make a delta wing supersonic passenger jet and this popped out instead: Propeller Rail Car by dr_spock_888, on Flickr Quote
Hey Joe Posted November 30, 2013 Posted November 30, 2013 Hey it looks great! Maybe needs another set of wheels on both ends? Joe Quote
zephyr1934 Posted November 30, 2013 Posted November 30, 2013 Great use of the airplane pieces... so were you deliberately trying to build a Schienenzeppelin or did you independently invent it yourslef? Quote
Hrw-Amen Posted November 30, 2013 Posted November 30, 2013 It would be good with a PF motor driving a set of propellers that are actually angled. There was a thread awhile ago where someone did that and it actually did push the wagon along. This would be really cool for a build like this, although as has been said you may need to look at the wheels agin. Quote
Hhmarshall Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 AWESOME. Come the lottery, I am building one of these. Quote
LEGO Train 12 Volts Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 Impressive! Very original work! Quote

Thanks. It was a combination. It started as a delta wing jet plane MOC but then I thought it looked like it could be an aerodynamic train car with jet engines. I did a quick search on the Internet to see if there are real things like that. Saw the propeller rail car and decided a propeller would be more interesting than a couple of jet engines in the back. So I ripped the incomplete wings off and added the wheels and prop bits. Hey it looks great! Maybe needs another set of wheels on both ends? The current shape is too low to fit in a battery box. I would have raise the roof line to fit that stuff in. It would certainly be a fun challenge. It appears that the Schienezeppelin has single axles too. I found the EB thread but it appears that images are gone. http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=32894 AWESOME. zephyr1934 Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 It is a great rendition of the Schienezeppelin. (it would have been that much more amazing if you had accidentally stumbled on a similar design) Quote
