Hey LT....long time no chat :) this is another wee masterpiece from the wizard of 'old school' lego builds. I'd love to see your style given the Lego series treatment...they are a great addition between the playtime element of CITY and the uber expensive Modular :D

Thanks 'gazumpty', I got another message from Lowes in Sydney.....they are send me a gift for my posting my design on their Facebook page.

Work is under way on the new post office.....though I'm a bit torn should I break down my other Aussie Post office or not for some of the interior parts ?

Keep watching !

Thats awesome !!!! :)

Thanks 'LEGO Family', yeah I know eh ?

Last year when I did my first LOWES, I was sent a few gift vouchers.....but they expired before a LOWES store opened up in my nearest shopping centre....at least it's a big store at Ingle Farm.

I don't know what they are sending me this time......I'll just wait and see.

Now I should hopefully posting (pardon the pun) images of my new post office.....keep watching !

You know I did build a Danish post office once, along with an OK tankstation and a few other buildings that look modern day Danish.......don't worry postal services around the world are similar !

The right side wall of the LOWES forms the left side wall of the post office.....like I wrote earlier it's a row of shops. The roof section will be a huge piece covering all the builds...hopefully I can keep it simple and more so keep the cost down.

Keep watching !

First of all. Do you have links to pictures of those danish builds. Just cause im curious ?

And ive been really tempted to build the same way when i first started on Allbrickcity. To save bricks. The BricksRus i had to rebuild cause i did it that way. And now where i finally have a plan for my layout im glad i didnt try to save bricks on the rest of my modulars in progress since ive had to reorganize my whole city plan.

Im just amased that i havent had to make a BL order yet. But im getting close. Im pretty sure that i dont have the bricks i need to make my hotel which i think will be my next take on a modular.

But ive just gotten started on town so i still have so many other things i can build on.

I just have this thing that when i run out of ideas on one build i begin a new till i get ideas and then return to the former build. Which i guess my post is showing really well .... LOL

On a sidenote, did you se the crypt i posted. Any ideas of what i can make of it ?

And that postoffice of yours. Looks like the mail is being distributed around the world is the same. Where is it :D .... Haha

Sorry for being sarcastic. Have had a hell of a day and an insane storm is over Denmark so ive been running around securing the house, and lost power for a few hours.

So im deadtired. :D

Edit: And honestly. Just as i wrote that i ran out of 1x4 white tiles building the interior of my firestation. Karma is a B*t*h !

How about a jewelry shop or a radio shack ? ...Maybe even an pet shop :D

Thanks for the suggestions 'LEGO Family', only very large towns have pet shops, electronic stores or jewelry stores.......a chemist/drug store perhaps or a bakery or butchers shop maybe.....some more suggestions I need indeed. Oh, the new hardware store will be going to the left of the LOWES menswear/drapery store.

Post office sticker day today......updating in a few hours......keep watching !

As always your stickers looks excellent. I love the "express post" sticker.

Then what about a bookstore or a butcher shop sounds spot on.

It could also be a little pub for the locals to share rumors and bit*h about the weather. Maybe a dentist or a haircut shop.

Thanks for the feedback 'jonwil' and 'LEGO Family', there is a pub already in my earlier NM design but since each building is getting a complete overhaul I guess that too will be expanded.

I was think a putting the Landmark next to the post office, but I guess a butchers shop and then the Landmark might work......keep watching !

Only digital designing today, I was busy earning money so I couldn't do any work on any of my shops today.....question.....should the buildings be a mix again of different twenty century design eras...i.e. art deco, ?

Keep watching !

Posted

Yeah I like the idea of the mix of designs...but if they are arranged in a manner that looks like natural progression over time. Some older buildings with a more modern retro-fits or extension :)
