dikkie klijn Posted November 18, 2013 Posted November 18, 2013 Yesterday I received the 42007 Dirt bike, but after building it I felt it could be done better. So time for an overhaul :D. Before: After (click on the pictures for more): Quote
twoofive Posted November 18, 2013 Posted November 18, 2013 that looks a lot better! although i dont have this set for now;-) Quote
skppo Posted November 18, 2013 Posted November 18, 2013 It does look so much more better. I like the angled connectros for the frame. Maybe make them not black so they stand out a bit more? Quote
burntrope Posted November 19, 2013 Posted November 19, 2013 (edited) I like this very much. Edited November 19, 2013 by burntrope Quote

darsedz Posted November 19, 2013 Posted November 19, 2013 very nice model, lot of improvements, in comparison with original version :-) Quote
skppo Posted November 19, 2013 Posted November 19, 2013 @skppo mayvbe I'll change them, don't know what colour tho. Light gray would work well Quote
dikkie klijn Posted November 20, 2013 Author Posted November 20, 2013 Hmm I'll check this weekend, but I think black is better. Quote
ABslego Posted December 6, 2013 Posted December 6, 2013 Very good improvement and nice looking model!! I also changed mine a bit, but not as much as yours. The placement of the rear sprocket in the original set is really bad, so i focused on that part :) See the pic below. More info on my site. Quote
Jim Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 I missed this topic, but great modifications Dikkie! I still need to build my copy, so I will surely take a look at the modifications you made. Quote
oz the malefic Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 (edited) OP, that's an amazing job, love the frame, love the seat, love the new rear suspension geometry :D Very good improvement and nice looking model!! I also changed mine a bit, but not as much as yours. The placement of the rear sprocket in the original set is really bad, so i focused on that part :) See the pic below. More info on my site. I just got finished with exactly the same fix, and coincidentally ended up with basically the same resolution. I also wasn't happy with the exhaust as I felt like it was just placed too randomly and one looking like it wasn't even connected. Thus, my result. Not perfectly accurate for the real world, but I think it still make more sense than the randomness of the original design. Edited February 14, 2014 by oz the malefic Quote
Trawler Man Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 That is really cool, Dikkie. I'd really love to have instructions for that. Quote
