SwissBrick Posted December 16, 2013 Posted December 16, 2013 (edited) Yeah I am disappointed also. All exclusives recently came with a prerelease for VIP's... I really was hoping to build this with Christmas... Me too... OK, it has never been officially announced that there would be an early release for VIPs, but I trust Grogall, it certainly was planned. I believe something went wrong... This was the only item on my wishlist... Will have to be a bit more patient, but will not hurry. This is disappointing but oh well, I believe there is much worse than not getting what you wished for x-mas... TLG/Jamie if you read us, if a set is announced so early and that there are rumors about an early VIP sale, if possible, could you please infirm the rumor, so that we don't get too much frustrated but you probably have other stuff to do than caring about a few frustrated AFOLs... EDIT: And oh, there is still 3 hours (CET) left if you want to still make a few of us very very happy! Edited December 16, 2013 by SwissBrick Quote
kermit Posted December 16, 2013 Posted December 16, 2013 I was also disappointed too as well. I stayed up on the 13th (the first rumored date) and lastnight and no early vip sale. I was really hoping to use the free $10 gift card I got from lego towards this set , but now i`ll have to look for something else to buy (which i really dont need at all) just so that i use the card before it expires on the 31st. Off the wall Posted December 16, 2013 Posted December 16, 2013 I can't grovel over the PR. A Mini Cooper, maybe. But no groveling for the PR. Take your time TLG, no rush........ Quote
merman Posted December 16, 2013 Posted December 16, 2013 Another midnight and no presale. I am so disappointed :( Quote
Faefrost Posted December 16, 2013 Posted December 16, 2013 It might be logistics? They can't guarantee getting it to all of the Lego retail stores for a pre release with all of the other holiday shipping and restocks going on. And I VIP only sale is much less priority than making sure the regular general retail shelves are fully stocked with new Ninjago for Christmas? Quote
mapimi Posted December 17, 2013 Posted December 17, 2013 Maybe as compensation the first 1000 sets get seagulls ^^ Worth the extra 15 days XD Quote
MKJoshA Posted December 17, 2013 Posted December 17, 2013 Amazing review dj2005. This set in my opinion is one of my favorites, exactly what my city needed for quite some time. I love all those pieces, thanks for the pictures! I might buy three of these, one for building, another for the parts, and a third as a gift. Can I be the one who gets your "gift" copy? Maybe as compensation the first 1000 sets get seagulls ^^ Worth the extra 15 days XD I thought it was confirmed that there was a seagull in the set? Quote
mapimi Posted December 17, 2013 Posted December 17, 2013 I thought it was confirmed that there was a seagull in the set? I seem to recall Lego releasing a public statement saying a seagull appeared in earlier versions of the set but was removed without warning the PR (and not talking about the Parisian Restaurant ^^) department, which is why the seagull appeared in early descriptions of the set. Also every review posted about the PR mention no seagull is to be seen Quote
LegoSjaak Posted December 17, 2013 Posted December 17, 2013 i think i'll have a seagull for christmas dinner, to compensate some hard feelings... haha...! Quote
gregrichards Posted December 19, 2013 Posted December 19, 2013 I know it is frustrating not getting the set in time for Christmas but lego needs some cool sets for people to spend their Christmas gift cards on in January. I like this set I might get it to sit beside my architecture Eiffel Tower for the full Parisian effect. Quote
Off the wall Posted December 20, 2013 Posted December 20, 2013 It's already shown up on ebay as 'pre-order, buy it now' for a little over $200. Quote
CAP-Team Posted December 21, 2013 Posted December 21, 2013 Pity that you can't pre-order, but then again, I can now order together with Cusoo MSL Quote
astra Posted December 23, 2013 Posted December 23, 2013 I do hope so, but don't think that we - in the Netherlands - can order the Cusoo MSL on January 1st. It isn't listed on the Dutch part of the Lego shop site and we'll probably have to wait on that one, like we had to wait longer before the Cusoo Back to the Future set was available... Quote
Waaltje Posted December 23, 2013 Posted December 23, 2013 In that case ill just have to wait so i can order both too haha. Quote
greeny Posted December 23, 2013 Posted December 23, 2013 I do like this Modular building, but it isn't my favorite. I think the way the Artist studio's roof swings down is a bit strange. Despite that, it is a fantastic looking set Quote
VintageLegoEra Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 This is my best modular set because the faces are just classic and takes me back 25 years back...:) Quote
Chocolatecake Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 This is my best modular set because the faces are just classic and takes me back 25 years back...:) As far as I remember the last four modularsets had classic faces on the minifigures. Quote
TheLegoDr Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 I believe all Modulars use the classic smiley. Market Street didn't, but it isn't a true Modular. It was fan created. Another reason why it doesn't look as appealing as the rest of the line too. But the rest use the classic smiley. Quote
talos Posted April 12, 2014 Posted April 12, 2014 I like the PR set, its nice, and has a lot crammed into it. My only criticism, is that it is too shallow, I would of liked it to have a little more depth to make the dining room larger as well as the apartment and studio above. I think it is the way it is perhaps because more depth would of made the roof too large. Oh well, its great as it is. I think I will keep mine at the end of the street, with nothing on the stairway side, so its more visible. If I add another building to that side, I will leave some space for an alley along side. LOTRfan Posted April 25, 2014 Posted April 25, 2014 Do you think that I should get this or GG? I just can't decide.. Quote
AFOLguy1970 Posted April 25, 2014 Posted April 25, 2014 GG will be quite expensive since it is no longer produced. I really like PR due to the details. Quote
LOTRfan Posted April 25, 2014 Posted April 25, 2014 GG will be quite expensive since it is no longer produced. I really like PR due to the details. Just looked on bricklink at the prices. Best price sealed: £400 Quote
rollermonkey Posted April 25, 2014 Posted April 25, 2014 (edited) Yup. You can build GG cheaper by just buying all the bricks via BL, PAB and BnP. Edited April 25, 2014 by rollermonkey Quote
LOTRfan Posted April 25, 2014 Posted April 25, 2014 Yup. You can build GG cheaper by just buying all the bricks via BL, PAB and BnP. Mission accepted Quote
LegoSjaak Posted June 3, 2014 Posted June 3, 2014 A Parisian Hotel / Restaurant like this would also look pretty awesome.... Quote
