Admiral Croissant Posted November 9, 2013 Posted November 9, 2013 The advice I'd like to give you is to stick to one model ship as your example, or at least one type of ship from one time period. Otherwise you might end up mixing the wrong characteristics. And then just try to make it as closely as possible in LEGO. You can also find many great examples in our Ship MOC Index, and in our Historical Ships Index. Good luck! (And could you please start each sentence with a capitalized character? Looks better ) Quote
dren0ma Posted November 10, 2013 Author Posted November 10, 2013 (edited) do you guys use this as your mast? Edited November 10, 2013 by dren0ma Quote
Admiral Croissant Posted November 10, 2013 Posted November 10, 2013 Who do you mean by "you guys"? Do you mean all of the Eurobricks members that ever posted a ship MOC in the Pirates forum? In that case, you're referring to more than 150 different ship MOCs, so that means many different ways of making a mast. The mast you're showing could have been used by some of them. Again, if you're looking for inspiration please check the index. Quote
Sebeus I Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 I've used those masts in some of my best ships, yet I do prefer the old type you find in sets like the Black Seas Barracuda. Round bricks are useful in both cases to modify the length. I hope this helps. Quote
Admiral Bejaune Posted November 15, 2013 Posted November 15, 2013 The best advice I can give you is to check out captain green hair's build a frigate tutorial. It has everything you need to know about building a great ship moc. Quote
